I was idly scanning Kickstarter and Indiegogo (Spelling of last?) related posts in my e-mail this morning and it struck me that the campaigns (right word?) I was seeing were very much 28 mm plus sized (since I spend a fair amount of time here and none on TMP I would of course be exposed more to those sizes) figures.
While I a converting my 6 mm to 3 mm figures (and minimizing my 25 Plus figure buying for retirement years storage) I have been thinking about/toying with the concept of 15 mm figures for larger battles. Now I really hate the idea of a 3rd scale for terrain issues but where I am going with this is that I have not seen any 15 mm figures on such forums (haven't looked so that may be why) which made me wonder,
"Does the skirmish nature/museum piece mind set of 28 mm or larger size figures favor that size campaigns on forums such as Kickstarter and Indiegogo?"
Answer if you see fit. I am off to see if there are significant 15 mm sized efforts on those forums.

Glenn

What are you doing, chopping them off at the waist? :D

3mm? Just pretend they are there.

There are at least two manufacturers currently making these scale figures (ACW and Nappoleonics from one.)

Apparently 15 mm is not significantly present on either of the two web sites.

3mm? I'm sure to remember a wargamer using rice instead of miniature figurines. If painted with food colorants you can *eat* your prisoners (or routers, as a punishment). Not much eye-candy, but I suppose the rice itself can be candied?

Have you actually SEEN these figures or is this just stereotypical commenting?

I think he is being sarcastic...
Which icon on LAF is for sarcasm? ;) I could have used it once or twice. lol
Still, if he hasn't seen the 3 mm miniatures it seemed somewhat like violating the LAF unspoken code :D of not trolling... or being rude... :)
But that's my take on the statement. Not that I ever have written something that I would like to stated differently on a forum. ::) Oh no, never.
Well, not a lot...
