The airline my wife works for as a cabin crew member, Air New Zealand, has produced a brilliant new flight safety briefing based on ‘The Hobbit'.

The elfin stewardess in the video isn't my wife – though she too would've looked the part!

Nice find.
(I do feel slightly embarrassed being a kiwi though) lol

Gotta love joint merchandising 8)

Well done very funny. What a way to get flyers to actually watch the safety film.

And the best thing was, being New Zealand, they could cast the passengers without recourse to makeup or prostheses.

Brilliant. My favourite bit is the Witch King of Angmar being told to turn off his iPhone lol

What a good idea 8)

Another other good thing about this as a safety briefing is that it bears repeat viewings very well, because there are a lot of in-jokes that you can easily miss the first few times.
Look for the Eye(s) of Sauron, for example. Or realise that two of the passengers are actually descendants of Tolkien. Or recognise the captain's last comment ... etc etc

If more folks could be as creative as these, life could be a lot more merry!
