Hellooooo!!
Long time ago since my last post.
Today I want to post you something crazy... a big project that I had in mind for several years, but I was never able to do. Until now.
So I began to create a bust of a Space Marine at 1:10 scale (approximately), using a PVC figure as a base. For the head I needed something special... so I used an Action Man!
After I prepared the materials, I documented me to recreate a space marine power armor. To do this I had to modeling the chest with putty and added supplements (metal pegasus wings, wires ...). For shoulder pads I used plastic accessories of a famous coffee company ...
After the composition and scaling work, comes the paint. I tried to capture the concept of a rough space marine with his facial wounds.
I hope you like this bust. I'm very proud of it!!
Be happy!!!

That's a pretty cool idea, very well-executed. I like the raised corrosion on the armor.
-
Looks great! Thanks for the WIP too... it's really awesome.
-
Way cool. Only you could turn a frappachino lid into something badass!
-
Great idea and very good result! :o :-* 8)

That's awesome. really cool use of trash to treasure.
-
Mind blowing! You are extremely talented. I wish I had one like that, I would put it in the best spot in the house for all to see. (Wife might would not agree :p )
-
Scratchbuilding miniatures? That's simply great! Even with no sculpting work you managed to have a great piece! well, and the painting is top quality, of course! :)
-
Awesome...but highlights one of my favorite Space Marine issues...peripheral vision... lol
Beautiful talent though!

:o
Whow!
Way beyond my modelling and painting skills.
-
You crazy bastard! Marvellous work. Best use of an Action Man ever.

Very nice indeed but for me the pads don't work being too rounded on profile. It would be very easy to sand/shape more correct pads from polystyrene/pink/blue foam so what you waiting for, a complete marine now please!
Also I can see those eyebrows still there, so paint them in bud, in the future there is only over waxed facial hair ;)
The Commander

Most impressive. Do you have any more production shots of the shoulder pads? the techique might adapt well to some city terrain I'm plotting.
As a counter to Commander Vyper, I like the rounded pads and might steal that idea emulate them for a chapter.

I'm stunned vy this job! Amazing idea!
-
That's rather special. :-*

Not a GW exclusive problem, unfortunately (that's a Warmachine mini):

Connann - the bust is just impressive! You should do a full figure. But I have a question: you mention a PVC figure as a base. Did you scratch build the armour on the figure, or did it already had one?

Great figure and I thought the WIP's were very well done.

A gorgeous model, very impressive. I didnt imagine it was going to look quite that special from the first WIP pic.
