While we were messing about and getting terrain set up I went ahead and snapped a few photos of my Princess Julianna Dwarves limited series unit.

I haven't actually taken them for a spin yet in Flintloque as I'm tied to undead in the Black Powder Storm campaign bu I'll have them out sharing musket fire eventually.
Once again we had Joccian rats facing off against my Diberian werewolves. Terrain set up was a little sparser than usual and reinforces that I need to get back to making more buildings for the game. Have plenty of plans but in reality I'm putting finishing touches on yet another unit of Todoroni and then really need to get my Slaughterloo undead force painted up. We'll see how things go. My be taking a break from Flintloque painting to do up some 7TV figs, though.
Werewolves of London... err.. somewhere in the Witchlands...

Joccians trying for a third time to get a foothold in the city...

It was kind of a stand up scrum with forces spreading out and exchanging musket fire. Vermin of Joccia really changed the entire face of battle with his flask of tupple that can also act as a Ferach Fyre Grenade. One well placed lob eliminated two werewolves with three hits and four hits placed on each. Even blowing a command point to prevent hits couldn't save them.

And it was a general slaughter placed by the Joccians in that by turn three the elite Diberians were down by half their unit, suffering shaken tokens and starting to flee the battlefield. Of course the overamped, cheesy vampire officer moved into melee and starting matching the rats toe to toe.

Being that Republics Fury was spanking me so badly I decided to step over to the other table and take some snap shots of the orcs fighting against the dwarves.

In the end, the Joccians yielded the battlefield for a third time, despite a good portion of the Diberians also quitting the battlefield. Totalling up lost points gave the Joccians a marginal victory by five points but a victory is, after all, a victory.

Next month will see a new game and undoubtedly new lists as I bring back the zombie love to the table and roll out Stradovich's Deadeye Shooters to tackle the next opponent.

Awesome stuff as always, I love seeing you play these games out.
Those Princess Juliana Dwarves are brilliantly painted, I really must paint mine. They are possibly my favourite VLU code!
-
Excellent work. I always loved these figure just a project to far :D
-
The Princess Julianna Dwarves look great and thanks for the AAR.

Like the painting on the dwarves, now you just need a chance to test them in action.
Really need to get my Flintloque figures into a game or two.
-
I agree that the Julianna Dwarves have a special spot in my heart. Something about them just made me have to have them. If I ever EVER finish my undead I'll probably be expanding into the stunty fellas but that's somewhere nebulous down the old timeline. Thanks for the comments, we really try to keep the Flintloque flag flying every month and keep y'all (Texas!) updated on our shenanigans at the game store. I did start working on even more buildings this week so I'm hoping to eventually have a cluttered urban field for the skirmishers to battle over.

Since we finally pushed through the city we can now move out to the open plains beyond. With heavy losses and grim determination we march towards the Star Wraith's capitol. We will try to meet up with the Cold Scream Guard... they are supposed to be north of the city somewhere.
-
One of the things that I've observed about Texas is that, while things may or may not be bigger here, they definitely are further away. GREAT LOOKING minis & game that's all the way up North. C'est la vie, eh!
-
Oh yeah, Texas is massive. Finding players is usually interesting to say the least. Especially for someone like me that plays games like Flintloque, 7TV, Ultimate Warzone, Baptism of Fire (1st edition mind you as 2nd and 3rd edition never clicked with me) and I'm thankful Republics Fury and myself FINALLY got together so I can play Flintloque at least twelve times a year rather than the usual off game every other year or so.
-
That's interesting, I only get to play a Flintloque game once or twice, every other year.
I still can't get my head around the 3rd edition rules. It's definately a game you cannot play without the counters.
I'm hoping to spread the infection to a local gaming club that pretty much only play 40k and a little warhammer.

Republics Fury has his sheets made up to do away with markers. All status is taken care of on his sheets not too much unlike 2nd edition sheets really. I still use the markers but tuck them under the base when taking photos to try to make the battlefield look more photogenically appealing. I still STILL occasionally reference rules back in 2nd edition that don't apply anymore. 3rd edition Flintloque has grown on me a lot and the fact that Gavin got it past the usual Flintloque/Deadloque expansions and got that Bier & Bones out there. Republics Fury and I have certainly got plenty of people coming by the table over the last year and months but recruitment is just plain slow.
-
I never played 2nd edition, I hated the move away from percentile drops and going for the 'columns'. I found it unnecessarily confusing.
I am very excited for Blood on the Sands, of all of the 'modern concepts', I think the Southern Undead army is the most entertaining. I can't say I am the biggest fan of AA cutting the Gnomes of Nederlund out and replacing them with Burrovians. I'm also not that keen on any Werewolves that are not Undead alligned except the Visthowla.
I am afraid I am of the 'old school'. Good friends with a lot of the people 'pre-CCI/Alector' whilst also helping out here and there with adding to the range and filling gaps. To be honest, I am just glad to see Flintloque still available and doing well and well enough still for Gavin to feed his kids 3 times a day!
