Title: 6mm terrain boards - WIP
Post by: 6mmfan on 05 November 2012, 07:02:06 AM
Hi all

I've updated my 6mm Wargaming site with some new content. I've added  part two of the large construction project of my 6mm terrain boards. The second part shows step by step details on the progress of the
boards.

http://6mm.wargaming.info/ (http://6mm.wargaming.info/)

The direct link to the new page is

and Part one is here (if you missed it first time)
http://6mm.wargaming.info/page350.shtml (http://6mm.wargaming.info/page350.shtml)

I will add the third part with completed boards once I get a new camera and I'll
add more soon hopefully as I ran out of time to get some pictures of some other
new stuff.

And heres some random pictures of my boards WIP.

Some of you may have seen this before but I'm just getting around to updating my site!

Cheers
Kieran

It looks fairly realistic I'd say! :)

The close-ups look really cool, very inspiring! Do you have a pic of them all interlocked together?

Yes I do, they are actually finished but I'm just really sloooowww updating my site. The joins are fine and hardly noticeable especially if you cover the table in terrain!

I've got some pictures here in a battle report and I'll post a couple here

That's a massive table for 6mm gaming. It looks really good. I'd love to play on it.
Great work.

Hi all

I've been slowing working on some new town sectors using Gamecraft buildings and adding extra details like downpipes, chimmleys, windows lintels and so on. The buildings are quite flat so hopefully the extra detail will add more of a 3d effect.

I mentioned on another forum about the lack of detail on the back of the Gamecraft buildings and 2 days later they produced a new range of perspex building backs. This will save a lot of work scratch building details for the back although I will probably still add some more myself.

I'll start painting these next week as I need to finish them by Feburary and I wont get anything done in December!

This building has an archway so I got out the dremel and cut the arch right through so that it can open onto the back of the buildings

And some more town layouts showing the 30/60 degree angled corner pieces and how I can combine them to make interesting shaped towns. I just need to figure out how to make the roads! The bases are meant to be Spearhead sized except the corner pieces which are designed to have 90mm long edges to macth up with the 90x90 Spearhead bases.
