The RAFM ghouls aren't too bad.  Two of the three has slightly distended mussles (like dogs).  The 3rd I use for my Icon portrait.  A ghoul in a hat and trenchcoat.  That happens to be my favorite painted evil looking occult miniature.  I believe the original idea was to show 3 stages of a Ghouls degeneration from humanity.  The later 2 seem are good sculpts.

Hope this helps.

Are you looking for mutated dogs, or doglike humanoids?

If it's the latter, the Gnolls in Hasslefree's White Metal section might work:

http://www.hasslefreeminiatures.co.uk/range.php?range_id=53&subcat_id=32

Sculpted by Ben Siens. Very doglike, yet have the sort of ancient civilisation look about them you might want for COC.

That new set of armed ghouls with the exception of maybe 1.  Look like cartoony D&D sub-human "whatevers".  They lack that diabolical nastyness, that the Heresy models have captured.

Would werewolf type figures be any use ?
We have some of the Dr Who miniatures ones that might be surplus (the ones that come in a pack of 7 from Woolworths etc)

Thanks for all the help.Ordered Hasslefree gnoll cleric(very, very nice) and decided to stay with the Heresy ghouls....more recent human transformations and the Gnoll being a pure blood ghoul leader of a new pack. Will try to post when painted to get your views. The old RAFM ghoul pack is very nice too I may add..it's a good idea showing the different stages to a ghoul.

No problem Argonor.I saw some of 'they who cannot be named' plastic crypt ghouls....not impressed at all.Really like the new skellies and vampires but one word....pricetag!But i am tempted by the giant vampire bat beastie though.Any thoughts on these comrades?I can see the more proportionally skellingtons being popular but i wish they would redesign their plastic zombies....more like the old range of the late 80's.Found someo the old metal zombies on E-bay and won them.Nice.Still very nice scupts in my opinion.

A note on pricetags: Have you noticed the Blood Knights?? When first I saw them, I had this idea of maybe using some as alternative Riders of the Dead for LotR. Then I noticed the price...

I have some of the old metal zombies, very gruesome! Am going to paint them up for Dead Walk Again!

Like 'em a lot. Ghouls and zombies always should be gory, like in those old zombie-movies from the 70's  8)

EDIT: What colours did you use for the skin?

I think, I would use those for something else.... pulp expeditions to the centre of the Earth, or maybe some savage inhabitants of a distant planet...  :)

I like the concept & the sculpting, but there's something about the poses that doesn't seem quite right  :?

They remind me of dancing monsters I saw in an old Scooby Doo once  :(

Those ghouls look wicked! I've had to get a couple for myself. Love the dark, realistic look on the paint job marrony.

Very nice painting!  Is the blood dripping from the hand to the base actually there or is it photoshop?

Your ghouls look like they just lifted their heads out of a fresh kill!  Very horrible and nasty!  I love em!

Actually most look very good. But the guy on the very left has the wrong arm - leg position with both right appendices thrust forward like a camel or so...
I think most lokk like they have just started running almost like sprinters who have just come up from the start.
