Post by: The_Wisecrack on 19 March 2008, 07:13:01 PM
wel lbasicly i was messing around the other night and i came up with a way to make some smal priate sail boats of pizza card. yes there not going to withstand being sat on etc. but there ok. they hold up toi four (five wth crouding) ordinary GW slotta base miniatures. i am going to put up pictures. and i will take it from there.

After trying to decide to paint tonight I suddenly remembered this thread and my mind clicked. I pulled out the foamcore and balsa wood and this is the result (This and a mess all over my carpet):

They fit five models in each comfortably (My guys are based on 22mm washers) as u can see

They will get painted and based in the next couple of days I just thought id put up some pics now as mr. Wisecrack is refuses to (show us some pics please).

Oh, and i completely forgot to take pics of the oars i carved out of popsticks

Ill add 1mm balsa wood to the on top of the foamcore showing, then ill put them on MDF bases, cut a little hole in the sides, stick the end of the oars in the little holes and going into the water on the base, do the water on the base and then paint it all.
Seems like a lot but it shouldn't take too long if i can focus on it :)

I quite like the height of the sides which is why im gonna wait to get some really thin balsa to go inside
