Now up for pre-order:
Due for release mid-December, this is the first of two supplements for our Black Powder game that focuses on the Napoleonic battles involving British forces. Written by long-time gamer and Napoleonic aficionado, Adrian McWalter, this book focuses on the Flanders and Peninsular campaigns and is now available to pre-order…
112 pages of Napoleonic army lists, background, troop stats and scenarios make this an absolute must for lovers of Black Powder, of Napoleonic gaming or simply of gloriously produced wargaming books!
As we mentioned at the top of the page, this book is the first of two focusing on Great Britain’s battles in the wars – the next book will be out next year and will focus on the climax of the wars – the 100 days campaign and the Battle of Waterloo…

No books for the russian campaing and they got Russian and French plastic boxes ?
But guessing that many gamers are brits or want to game with them I get the thing on releasing a book centered at them. Just hope that there are enought about the Frenchies in there to.
-
Doesn't say they won't. It only says that these books cover games INVOLVING British forces...... :o
-
Yes of course they will have to have some one to battle. :D
Looks lite must buy for me atleast.
-
I expect that the Russian campaign will have a book of its own. ;D
-
I hope to pre order at my local and get the model they say is the one on the cover, will look grand painted as a dutch militia officer with banner next to the prince of orange
-
Skips the British in the war of 1812, though......
-
Alreday ordered - will review
-
Skips the British in the war of 1812, though......
Quite a distance from the peninsular and Flanders so yes I would expect so.
I only hope when they do the Waterloo book they don't use Sharpe and British history for the Netherlands forces.

Studio Tomahawk will be releasing an 1812 supplement book for their M&T game in the next 6-12 mths..Alex told me at Warfare so one for the diary
-
Considering how popular muskets and tomohawk was I guess that's another must buy, at least for me.
-
There are other books on the way too, I've seen some of the draft material for the war in Russia. I know ;) that there is lots of stuff going on for BP still for lots of other periods too but I suspect a lot of it will only see the light of day if there is sufficient demand.

Well, as long as the releases are more regular than WAB I'll be happy.

Another item on my 'wants/need' list I think!

Jeez, just volume 1? How many volumes then covering all those nations involved in the Revolutionary/Napoleonic Wars big time? lol
Sorry, I think that focus is beyond me. ::)
-
From memory I think there are 3 volumes planned on the Napoleonic wars, but as I said I think a lot will come down to the demand. Obviously there is Albion Triumphant, one that will include Russia but I can't recall what the other one was.
-
If they skip Austria... Well, that would ignore the most persistent foe of the French Republic and Napoleon and that would just be... wrong.
I think I will wait buying any of these rules until I see that Austria is represented.
Gracias,
Glenn

I'm sure they will be covered in one of the volumes - any vaguery is entirely on my part - a friend had draft copies of some of the material as he was giving a 2nd opinion on some of the contents. Come to think of it I'm almost certain that I've seen part of an Austrian army list.
-
I'm now fairly sure vol 2 is the 100 Days and vol 3 covers everybody/thing not previously covered - presumably Russia, Austria etc.
-
To bad I just ordered lots of stuff before this was announced. I feel I will have paint upp atleast the bigger part of that before ordering again.
Looks like a must by for me atleast.
-
I expect that the Russian campaign will have a book of its own. ;D
I expect that you're right. I'll see if i can point Ady this way ;)

I'm fairly sure that you're correct. Certainly our resident Austrian player gets games and Ady (author) uses Russians - in fact they were playing Austrians v Russians on the table next to me yesterday. Both are mates of mine. I'm just saying .. :D
-
Well I figured they would start with the Peninsular or Waterloo campaigns first ::) so I'll need to wait for the Russian campaign.

Hi Gents, Just to clear a few things up, the first book is Peninsular centric and only covers Flanders to highlight how poop things were and why the army reformed which brought the changes that manifested itself in one of the greatest armies that Britain has produced, this book covers Anglo Portuguese, France and Spain.
Vol 2 covers the 100 days and looks at Anglo Hanoverian, Dutch Belgians and French. The rules in the book allow you to flavour your Dutch/ Belgian units to taste so if you believe the tainted anglo contemporary view of them they can be poor if you are on the other side of the fence they dont have to be :)
I am in the process of writing material for Russians, Austrians, Prussians, Saxons, Polish, Confederated states etc and these will appear in other volumes
hope this helps
ady

Hi, wasn't trying to steal anyone's thunder, just share what I did know from my contacts and other forums.
