Title: VBCW BUF Air Support
Post by: Pappa Midnight on 26 November 2012, 07:26:00 PM
I picked some more cheap 1:48 SMER kits for some VBCW action.
As with the Bristol Bulldog I haven't bothered with rigging as it is meant to be gamed with.
The first one up is a Fiat CR32 painted in BUF colours with a copplestone pilot. I have also mounted this on a telescopic flight stand.

In a dog fight with my Anglican League Bristol Bulldog:

Next on the work bench is a 1:48 Supermarine Walrus which will act as an Anglican League aerial command centre.....

Looks like the BUF, has got the best of the Anglican in that bout.

Thanks for the comments.
I have no idea what the doodads do on the top of the wings. They are some sort of aerofoil attached to the flaps/aerilons.

Now THAT'S a sexy fighter. Rakish and needlessly sinister, as befits the BUF.

I should hope so, the Fiat is nearly 50 mph faster and the commonest field mod was to swap out the twin Breda 7.7mm guns for twin .50s. It pretty much outclassed everything that was around when it went into service in 1934.  :D

Nice looking model indeed though... by far my favourite Inter-War aircraft, it looks so '1930s'.  :)
