One of my friends went along to one of these event days. A cross between paintballing and live action role play.
http://www.zedevents.co.uk/about/
It appears they have two sights in the UK, one in Reading set in a disuse shopping mall and one in Cheshire in an abandoned manor house.
It looks like it might be fun!
:)
-
I'm in. :D
-
It looks like it could be fun.
If there was sufficient interest shown here we could possibly arrange a LAF day out. :)
-
Woah! That sounds like it could be great. I seem to recall that someone ran a Cthulhu live event on an estate in north Wales in the early 90s. It sounds very similar in its potential awesomeness.
-
I'm assuming you can't run around with a cricket bat beating the unliving shit out of the hoards... :(
We should bring Richard, he'd love it lol
cheers

lol
He was the first person I thought of lol
-
I'd probably scream like a girl if I got cornered by the zombies, even knowing it's fake lol
-
I would be interested in this. I suggested it for a friends stag thingy but they just groaned and said " zombies again David!!" they use air soft guns i think which are quite good fun :D
-
The run down abandoned shopping centre with hordes of shambling dead sounds a lot like the place near work. Maybe I could run an event on the cheap.
-
The LAF zombie day out sounds like great plan. If we want to talk seriously on this lets start a separate thread, get a good group together and go cap some walkers.
:D
-
I'm interested.
-
Same, to be honest. All the excitement of meeting men from the internet tempered by the horror of zombies. lol
-
Count me in.......
-
So in fine LAF style, if you're interested in doing this names below gentlemen.

There's also one in London not far from the O2 called bunker 51.

I think you made some typos there. I took the liberty to correct that for you :

My brother and I tried to do this on a recent trip to the UK, but even setting it up in advance they were booked for months! Bummer, because it looks like a ton of fun!

Having excitedly shown my wife, she has seen the price and tells me that I am now out. Sorry guys! :(
-
FOOL! YOU NEVER SHOW THEM ANYTHING! :)
The other one in the bunker is cheaper Steve, looks good still?
-
Now what can I sell to afford this merry jaunt?

Well hopefully Steve will sell his wife and we can all go gratis! ;)
-
My wife says I am to respond that she is priceless and therefore beyond value. ;) :D
Bunker 51 is the one at www.londonzombies.com (http://www.londonzombies.com)
It is cheaper at £115 vs £139 but is a different experience - a choice between bunker or shopping mall, which wraps up two of the key movies in the genre!
Haven't airsofted in a while so .......
...... I reckon I could swing the Bunker.
It's by the 02 in London Town so perhaps less convenient for those who'd have long journies?
-
Ya know guys I think you are going about this all wrong. Why not just wait until the london zombie walk buy an airsoft and run around shooting them.
lol lol lol
I still have a paintball pistol.
Is that allowed?
:D
(Trust Scurv to put everyone straight on this one).
-
That could be dangerous. The constabulary are known for making...er...well...mistakes.

In their defence I hear there are a lot of samurai walking around Chorley just before six.
-
Anybody'd think they are bullies in uniform lol
-
It turned out there was a chap roaming around with a sword who was later arrested. The blind man happened to be mistaken for said chap. Though the officer in question must have been blind himself to have mistaken the two!

Having said that, the MP for Cheltenham was attacked by a man carrying a katana, he killed his PA and then fled down the High Street where he was quickly arrested. So, not so far-fetched.

An awful film based on a much better Japanese film: Zatoichi.

Aaaah real life.... I don't know why I bother buying fiction anymore. I'll stick with the free metro.
