I think the dude with the cammy pants and red suspenders gave me a concussion once...
The bastard.

Great painting!

Very "Nobody likes us, everybody hates us, but we don't care..." indeed. Excellent paint job as always!
-
My Christmas wish list just got bigger! Back in the day my weekend job involved taking booze off guys like these before they went through the turnstiles - it's a miracle I've still got my good looks!

Wondered if any one has made football themed miniatures / dioramas before?
-
"A G, A G R, A G R O, AGRO!"

Superb!

Bloody hell I'd forgotten about that! lol

You know this thread has probably tripled the number of Milwall supporters. Whether that is a good thing or not is another matter entirely. :D
Nice work on the minis.

To the tune of "We are sailing" by Rod Stewart.
"We are Millwall,
We are Millwall,
You all hate us.
We don't care."

Got the first three sets of hooligans - still deciding which team to paint them as. Now Andy has released a couple of new sets so the dilemma continues! Do I split them as rivals across the terraces or do I simply make a single mob of likeminded loonies? Either way the figures are great!

And a couple of coppers standing around, doing nothing...

Great stuff, Dags.

As a Millwall supporter you fellas making the 'funny' comments make me laugh.
You ignorance certainly shows.... ::)
I guess that you have never been to the Den...

It's pretty accurate for the old Den lol
Who remembers Harry the Dog? ;)

These are nice will the fit in with My Killer B figures?

I bought some Killer Bs and they fitted well with the Ainsty ones. The figures I went for were the ones that looked more like spectators and less like villians - the guys in denim, the guy in the flat cap, the guy scratching his butt etc. It can be a bit hit and miss because I also bought the Not Get Carter figure and it was way too small for the terracing! Never mind the fact that a guy with a shotgun on the terracing might have been a bit too extreme even in the 70's!
-
Just finished painting the first 3 packs and I'm after the 2 new ones at some time soon. Want to be able to field a bunch of skinheads in a game at some point.
I also used the rather less "aggresive" posed ones alongside my Killer B civvies as bunch of anti-nuclear protestors as extra distraction in my recent 7TV game. I thought they mixed fine.

Offensive rioters may also be worth looking at

In the late 1960s — in response to football hooliganism at matches in England — police began confiscating any objects that could be used as weapons. These items included steel combs, pens, beermats, horse brasses, Polo mints
While searching I found this
a Millwall brick I can understand but beermats, horse brasses and polo mints?
-
The Polo mints were used to get the police horses to do what you want. Horses like treats & the people who give them treats. I know of Sealed Knotters (E.C.W. reenactors) who carry sherbert lemons for a similar reason, should some cavalry get in amongst your infantry a sweet will enable you to quietly lead it away, much to the anoyance of the rider (also as it walks away there can be dramatic effects as it reaches the sherbert).
The only 'combat' use of beer mats that I know of goes back to the early days of W.R.G. (Wargames Reseach Group) when Phil Barker recomended basing figures on beer mats.
-
You can embed razor blades in the edges of beer mats and flick them like shurikan, or so I've heard ::)
Maybe if you stick a few rolls of polo mints together you can make a blow pipe lol
