One of the new 7TV quick play games at Salute will be Cops and Robots by the delightful Mr Morgan Nash:
Frank Skelton puts his ear to the ground and hears the tell-tale stamp of criminal behaviour. Following a lead to a so-called "robot factory", his elite team find that the heavies waiting to be arrested are rather heavier than expected!
Now by happy coincidence David Marshall from TM Terrain contacted me. Those lovely people at Skytrex want to showcase their very nice railway and modelling terrain to wargamers so David offered to build a small industrial area for the game with all their gear! Result! Here's a link their range here - http://www.skytrex.com/
Here are some of the build pictures of the 2x2 foot board:

Nice set up :)
-
Looking good!
Karl, I've been eyeing up some of the Skytrex terrain features, is this the O gauge range? If so has David mentioned it scales up well with 28mm?
Cheers.

Yep, I believe so. I'll see if David can supply some scale pictures.

Ooo, shiny :-*

Excellent, just what I was going to ask for too - drop some of your bobbies/time life people into a shot or three :)

Here are some photos with Argo (28mm) and the Argonauts (40-60mm) to show the scale:

Fantastic Work, I really like what you've done with the board. Can't wait to see the rest!
-
:o
It is looking great already!
:-*
And the promotion is already working:
These will be perfect for my new project.
I am forming an orderly queue behind Thunderchicken, of course.
:D

Looking good! I don't know if it's my phone though or I've got the Australian version, but the piccies are upside down!

Bloody hell, Karl. Soon you'll been known as the guy with the terrain board gold mine ;)
-
Upside down on my pad as well.
cheers
James
-
Thanks Karl, much appreciated.
Mason, I ordered some of these goodies yesterday!! lol
The pics are the right way up on my laptop but upside down on me phone. Odd.

Looking forward to seeing this one.

Mine too,and I'm in Australia lol
Lovely board,cracking!
(and I've just admitted to owning an iPad)
-
Cracking board! 8)
I see there's only one stairwell up onto the train viaduct, is it maybe worth putting in a ladder at the opposite end?
Are we going to see interiors for the factory? It'd be really cool to see a conveyor belt with robot parts on it or robot docking stations or even an drawing office with the blueprints for the Argonauts!
-
Very, very nice. I look ofrward to seeing this at Salute. ;D

Careful, Andy, I can hear your little grey cells starting to go into design overdrive from here... ;)

You got a spare five minutes... ;)
-
The robot blueprints would make a tremendous mission objective - either spend enough time to photograph them (requires a super-secret mini spy camera, but allows you to flee at top speed) or swipe the whole set (which would probably require a file cabinet being hauled on a baggage trolley, which could add to the zanyness of a chase scene...)
-
Looking great. I REALLY am going to have to get to Salute next year.
-
wonderful work.. Can't wait to see it finished

Not many nowadays! Some people are keeping me busy! ;)
-
Can't think who... ;)

A few quick and rather fuzzy snaps of the finished board. I'll try for better tomorrow:

Looks bloody lovely! :-*
-
Absolutely gorgeous!
:-*
I was considering giving Salute a miss this year, but when I see threads like this, showing the eye candy that will be there, I keep thinking that that is a mistake.
-
This is very easy on the eyes. Great job. Are the spools home made or purchased?
Snitchy sends.
-
Whats the story behind the game, like the objectives of the sides etc??
-
I seriously love this board, full of character. I just ordered that Talos mini and looking forward to colouring it in

The whole board has been generously donated by Skytrex (and built by TM Terrain) so all the bits and bobs are from their range.
Marcusluis - This episode has those tough coppers from The Beat making a raid on an East End robot factory in an attempt to nick owner Norton Folgate. Can the villain escape with the aid of his computerised colossi or will DI Frank Skelton make his collar?
Youth - many thanks for the order!
-
Very nice indeed. :-*
-
Nice work up, love games in built up areas that look this good :)
-
Wonderful stuff ;D
-
Cracking board :-* :-*
I was considering giving Salute a miss this year,
What, and give the meeting of the most illustrious members of the LAF in front of my stand so I can't sell anything a miss ;D
cheers
James
