I got a very quick, very simple paint job done on this fun Four A figure recently. The paintjob wont win any prizes, but it looks like the subject ahould I think. Its a Whiffwaff sculpt I think.

As can be seen by the photo with the (irritatingly shiny) Foundry figures below, ALF is a little larger than the ~1m that he should be I think, but its a fun and very recognisable character all the same. The shine on the eyes looks a little bigger than it should due to the gloss and the lighting.

I plan to use ALF as part of a radical Ordo Xenos Inquisitorial retinue at some point in 2013. I reckon that I can squeeze the figure into a variety of games to be honest.

It might not win any prizes (in your opinion) but that is a very nicely painted ALF :-*. The base is lovely too.
Stop being humble and accept some well deserved praise :D

He looks great mate.

He looks great.
:-*
Still have not painted mine....but you are right: can be used in a variety of genres, mine will be used in Strange Aeons.

Heh! Thanks Inso. I will try (and likely fail) to sound less neurotic next time ;)
Still have not painted mine....
Excluding drying time that figure was extremely fast to paint. I didnt time it, but it was only an hour or two. If you wanted to you could get it done in the time it takes to watch Charlie & the Chocolate Factory or Raiders of the Lost Ark over the next week or so I reckon :)

Nice, although I haven’t seen any cats around on this forum today. Coincident ?

Great job on a fun mini! What's that weird line across the torso and shoulders? I assume it's the sculpt... is it on the back too?

Love it. One of my favourite childhood programmes

Great to see another one painted up.He does have lots of uses in all sorts of games.

Thanks for the kind words folks :)
I have about fourteen 28mm house cat models knocking around for a few different reasons. One is that I plan to add a cat model masquerading as a Gyrinx to a proposed Inquisitorial retinue that features ALF. Some time in 2013 I hope.

Thanks Mattias. The line is part of the sculpt (as seen here (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=39882.0)) and goes around the back. I have seen that sort of thing on furry models before, but I am not sure as to why furry models are sometimes sculpted like that. I am sure that someone around here knows.

Melmacians come in a variety of colours it appears, which is tempting me to paint a few more of this model. I will resist for the time being.

It may be deliberate.
Maybe the original ALF puppet was made like that....

Maybe he just got manboobs?
It been a couple of years since we last saw him... :D
