I'm thinking seen as it's Christmas i might treat myself to one of these games but at the moment I'm not sure what one to get.
First of all i don't know anyone who plays either but i guess i could convince someone to play a game at the club. I would like to buy a game rather than a new wargames project.
I never played Bloodbowl or anything so have no experience of games like Dreadball but i think it's cool and used to love playing Speedball as a kid.
has anyone played either of these games and give recommendations to convince me :D

I have played X-wing. It was really fun.
The Starter rules were easy to understand and it was really just a blast to play.
Also Millennium falcon, that should be convincing enough

I've played several games of X-Wing this week. It is a very easy game to teach, even to younger kids (8-12), but there can be a lot of strategy involved, especially when you start adding really good pilots and equipment. It is lots of fun.

I've never played blood bowl either, but I really enjoy Dreadball. I've played several pick up games and it's definitely fun. League play is probably better, but it plays well as a standalone.

X-Wing is nice.
bear in mind though, if you want a larger battle, say 100 points you need to buy extra ships, specificly for the Empire.

Good to hear, I think the kids have bought it for me :)

Bloodbowl is good, (first edition). Liked the look of xwing but not the price of the individual updates/ships.

Can't praise X-Wing highly enough. Great rules and great models. As for needing more ships the best thing to do is get a couple of starter sets, works out a lot cheaper and you get all the extra dice, movement sticks etc...

Well great, now I need to play this infernal X-Wing game too...
I still highly recommend Dreadball though!

X wing is a great game!
As for extra ships, watch for sales. I just picked up 2 Ties and Vaders Advanced Tie from Amazon for less than $7 each plus free S&H.

Quite fancy picking up dreadball next year

Have to agree with everyone else about X-Wing... great game, easy to learn, really fun and games are quite quick too.

I don't understand the upset at the price of the expansion ships. They're great value! The models are really nice and well painted, you get more pilot cards, the stands/pegs and a couple more counters etc. More than reasonable for the price. Especially when you take into account what £10.50 gets you from various other companies.
