Title: Dwarf traveller figures
Post by: ar-pharazon on December 27, 2012, 01:49:31 AM
Hi

Looking for decent (ie not balls with legs, not comical) dwarves in travelling gear. Not troops in the line, but adventurers, merchants and the like

Anybody know of any suitable ranges

Current?  No, but some of the Der Kriegspieler dwarves had mattocks, packs/bags IIRC.  Current owner of rights/molds has yet to remake dwarf molds as of this date - in the future possibility.

Gracias,

Glenn

IDK what you might consider comical, but take a look at scibor's dwarves: http://sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php?group=75 they look pretty serious to me.

He did a few more (same style, same size) for Reaper Miniatures too.

Thanks for that. I'll look at Scibor, and the Bob Olley ones too, as I had seen some on Reaper.

That other thread will be interesting, cheers.

Trying to do a Thorin's Comany without having to buy the GW set, as Zi got the Goblin-twn already, and these are for decorations.

Alternative Armies have a lovely range of Dwarves that I think were sculpted by Gary Morley or Kev Adams...

Some are more suitable than others.

Luckily this is for a joint project

How about Hasslefree miniatures: http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?category=miniatures~fantasy-dwarves

or even some of GW's LotR Dwarves; you can probably get these for a decent price now on a well known internet auction site.

Mithril?  Not all of their dwarfs are dwarfs-at-war, although they might be a bit pricy for your project.

I have to admit that I have "An Unexpected Party" wending its way to me, but that was my entertainment budget for this month and next shot.
