Title: Quick rail question
Post by: OSHIROmodels on 29 December 2012, 04:51:44 PM
Ive had a quick look on various websites but haven't found what I'm looking for.

I'm after single rails, not attached to anything at all, just the rail. I've thought about structural model girders but the profile isn't quite right.

Any pointers?

cheers

James

Model railroad store sell lengths of rail, usually in 3' lengths here in the US. The size is measured in code, but most is actually oversized for the scale so I feel fine using the HO scale code 100 for 1/56 track.

They'd need to be the right scale of course, but metal rails with plastic sleepers are easily dismantled, and you can usually get the rails off - would that work?

Hi,

Try theses people - they're based in Sheffield and have a huge range of rail sections (as opposed to "track").
