In my quest to end the year with a few more painted figures, I have just finished 3 more -- a patrol of Stone Giants!
Two of the miniatures are from Otherworld, one is an old Citadel C28 Giant. I did quite a few conversions on these, and took pictures of them before painting. For more details and lots of photos, please check out my blog. (Link below.)

Hope you guys like them!

Those look great.
FYI... when I went to check out your blog it turns out you used the [email] tag instead of the hyperlink tag.

Holy S**t!!! That's brilliant! :-* :-* :-*

Hey, thanks for the heads-up, I've fixed the link.
There is plenty more mini stuff to check out on the blog under the 'Older Posts".

The Big Guys & that Oh-So-Cool background piece are BEAUTIFULLY WELL DONE! The flesh tone & stone effects are FANTASTIC...GREAT brushwork.
-
Now this is simply outstanding. Great idea and even greater execution. What more could one hope for?
You should post this in Otherworld's Forum!

Stunning work!
-
holy heck! Love them. Next job is the helpless village for them to plunder!
-
Beautiful!
tt43.

Completely awesome! :-* :-* :-* I have the one stone giant primed and have been trying to scrounge up some candidates for buddies to make an encounter group. Not the easiest figure to convert to to mimic the style of. Hats off to you.
-
Ooooh! Nicely done! I really like the highlighting. :o
-
Great paint job you have done there, Vongoosewink!
But what I like most of all is: The character the three giants have. The faces tell me something about the personae of the giants. That's really good well done, as mr DEAFNALA would state it.
Keep on like this

Yes that's it!
And they match perfectly, I have never seen the old citadel one and can't pick it from the line up! Amzing job! You need to track down the Ral Partha one and add it in now!

:o :o :o
Stunning work!
That putty pushing as fantastic, they all blend together so well now.
As for the paintwork: Those greys are just :-* :-* :-*
-
:-* They are great!! (Not only in size ;))
-
Outstanding! The conversion on the Otherworld model is amazingly well done.
-
Wow! These are truly fantastic figures. Great paint jobs and conversion work.

n00b question coming up: what kind of paints did you use for painting the bases? thanks in advance :)

That's going to be hard to reproduce, base with Citadel Foundation 'Charadon Granite', wetbrush with Polly S Fantasy 'Gungy Brown' (long unavailable), final light drybrush with Reaper Prp-paint 'Stone Grey'.
Pretty much any dark-medium-light progression will work, so long as you use similar colors. I almost never use the same thing (by the time I paint another set I've usually forgotten what I used last time.) Just experiment, you'll find something that works for you.

Spectacular array of giant-sized goodness! Now I need to go buy an Otherworlds Stone Giant mini. I'm feeling inspired.
-
Absolutely gorgeous work! :-* :-*

I think I'M gonna replace grungy brown (because the only person I can buy it from is in the states and wants very high postage) with vallejo us field drab - I *think* they look kind of the same.

Outstanding work! :o
-
Fantastic job
-
Oh wow, great work and very sinister.
-
Wow! Stunning work, as was stated before these minis have a lot of character. Went to your blog and love the Ogre tanks; especially the confederate flag one.
You have very cool toys, from your giants to your Ogre tanks to your Star Wars vehicles,
Damien

Superb pj!

Thanks for all the positive comments everyone, they are really appreciated.
And thanks to the new guys who joined my blog -- the more the merrier!
These Stone Giants were a lot of fun, I'm still looking for a suitable pet Cave Bear for them. After these guys, I have another band of about a dozen Hill Giants from various manufacturers waiting in the wings... though let's hope it is not the end of the new year before I can get to them! ::)

Brilliant work!
-
Amazing job on them!!
-
Great stuff! Looking forward to the band of hill giants. (also ogre tanks :o)
