To my surprise, I couldn't find any castle/fortress walls when I googled it. I'm looking for some pretty large 28mm walls that I can use for the walls of Minas Tirith, so basically just any castle wall would be fine. I don't have a large budget, however, so I'm looking for something relatively cheap. I suppose 1/72 walls could work as well, but I couldn't find any of those either...
Please help me out!

IIRC, Zvezda did a set of Castle Walls for their 'Ring of Rule' game. They are pretty stereotypical medieval fantasy walls.

Search local toystores for a couple of these:

They are nicely detailed, though I'd recommend cannibalising an extra set for the backside of the walls as it's untextured (or put some board against is and cover it in filler).
With luck, you should find some for about £12 each.
They paint up really nicely (doors are scratchbuilt):

Thanks for the replies, gents. :) White Knight, that looks really nice! could you post a picture of one of those walls with a 28mm figure? I would be very grateful if you did.

Hi Cyberalien,
I have a similar castle (not by Superplay but also a cheap Chinese toy). I tinkered around a bit with the walls and made them "double" using some plasticard. The model is a GW High Elf. Check Ebay and you can find them mostly very cheap. I payed 20 Euros for this one if I remember correctly (certainly not more)
Regards,
Za

Has he ever posted a picture of a 28mm figure without those walls? Start from his sig. ;D

Here are a few quick (bad) pictures I took of the set 'as is' when I got it. Dimensions if built as shown are 70cm x 48cm...

I have a couple of those stashed away as well. I have a slight preference for the Superplay one on account of it not having the connector holes in the walls (it uses the windows as such), but both are very serviceable kits at a good price.

Thanks for your help, but I can't seem to find that superplay castle for sale on the internet. Everywhere I look, it's out of stock. :(
I will try my local toy stores, probably tomorrow.

Do you know what the toy was called or what the brand is? If I search for "castle" toys I get too many useless results.

That's odd, it used to be common as chips a few months ago. :?
I'm sure it'll pop back up though.
As for the other one, the bit of the box I can make out in the leadpile says "Dragon Knight Castle Playset".
What part of the world are you in?
-
Thanx WK thats the one, I couldn't remember. I bought it at a shop called "de Blokker". That is a chain of shops that also sell toys.

I think I got mine there too. The Superplay ones I got from Kruidvat and from Bart Smit (though I ordered the round tower version online).
-
Thanks for the replies. I'm in the Netherlands, I couldn't find it in the Bart Smit and Intertoys, but I just found one on Marktplaats.nl and I placed a bid. So I guess you solved my problem. Thanks! :)

In that case, go and visit you local Blokker. They have the castle on a regular basis :D.

I got one from a flea market some years ago.
Anyone have an idea to best fill in the gaps.
I mean the back of the walls, since these aren't detailed.
These parts:

Nicely painted by the way.

Well, I glued some cardboard (from brown cardboard boxes) in the recesses to act as a filler and then sealed it all with wall filler.
-
Perhaps you can see it a little better here:

I have more pictures of it here:

Right, so some wood filler would do.
Thanks a lot, maybe I'll finally get that stuff from the attic.

even though i have two old mighty fortress sets im tempted by these!
