Here are a couple of Frost Giants I painted up for the hubby (hoping he will DM a game soon! :)) I hope you like them.
The Giantess we were able to find in the flea market at Historicon last year -- She is an old Grenadier miniature from their "Giant of the Month" series. The male Giant is from Otherworld Miniatures.
So in the spirit of Robert E. Howard I need a third Giant! 8) He needs to be in the same scale and style of these two. So if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.

Oh yes!
I have the male giant and have been hesitating to paint him, but here is my inspiration.

Awesome work. They fit s o well together
-
Lovely work! What paints did you use for the skin?
-
Lovely work,they look great :-*
-
Wow, those look fantastic! :-* The "Daughter" figure is a really nice sculpt too.
As for suggestions, I'd try looking through Reaper's catalogue for something suitable to complete the trio perhaps? Maybe something like this (http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/giant/latest/65060)?

Lovely skin! Lovely concept! Lovely work! Lovely everything!
-
Amazing work. They seem to step straight out of the pages of the story. Good luck with finding a suitable giant to join them.
-
They look awesome!!!!!!
Any chance of the skin recipe please as it's perfect!!
-
Gotta join the chorus, they are both great!
Only thing is that the bases could use more snow and frost :)
-
Lovely, but +1 on more snow :)
-
Those are fabulous! :-* How can he resist putting on a game with such nice miniatures to use?
-
I've had the pleasure of painting the Giant Babe a few times. She's a joy to paint & your version is a joy to behold. Both she & her Consort benefit from a fine choice of colors & some marvelous brushwork. VERY WELL DONE!

Great paint!

Lovely stuff.. hubby=lucky :)

Great job on those! Is the design on the shield(if that's what it is) freehand?
-
They are fantastic!

Wow, thanks everyone for your wonderful and encouraging remarks, its much appreciated.
As for the skin tone, I used a very old bottle of Citadel Blue Grey (which having done a little research it looks like it then became Shadow Grey which in turn would make its most recent incarnation "The Fang") with varying shadows and highlights. :-* Looking at the conversion chart for GW Spacewolves Grey would also work.
And yes, the design on the shield is freehand. :) Old school cool points will be awarded for anyone who recognizes it 8)

Hmmm, looks just like a croc games pic...wait a minute! :o
:D

Beautiful work and one of my favourite stories (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=48653.0)!
Would any of these Ral Partha Giants (http://www.sodemons.com/rhrp01gallery/index.htm) do?
-
Thanks for the links -- the Ral Partha one is pretty good, but its hard to judge the size from the photo - I would need to see if next to either the Grenadier or Otherworld giant to know for sure. :)
-
True - he might be a bit small. Not sure myself as I haven't seen him in the flesh.
-
The RP one is huge! (well, by RP standards... ;)) Maybe 3ins tall? I sold mine a ways back, but he is a big fellow:

Another place to look would be barbarians from a 54mm range. One of these might fit with these two nicely. That is where some of the giants I used came from years ago.
-
Very nice looking giants. Looks like a City of Greyhawk shield on his belt.
Via ebay the Ral Partha 11-436 TSR Frost Giant would scale well. http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~tpope/sol/ral-partha/images/11-436.jpg (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~tpope/sol/ral-partha/images/11-436.jpg)

Richard at OW has my RP frost giant, he should be able to tell you how it scales.
