good one

Now I know that's a fib, you posted the Marmite Marines just the other day.
So come on, what's this month's inspirational figure?
-
Lots...But it's obviously a secret as I'm after the "Never-seen-before" bonus points in the "Painters League"
-
Well, I'll start the bidding then, since I'm not entering the LPL.

A frankly unprecedented 38 pieces this month. :o I will never paint this much again.
Sorry, bit of a huge post that.

Pity you're not entering. :( Some of these would have been excellent. In particular, if you took a "Game Legal" photo the Pygmies and the Dinosaurs would have been stonking entries
-
Thank you. :)
But I'm afraid that this is really an aberration. I normally get about ten figs a month done, if that, and can't paint to deadlines at all.
Like I said, this'll never happen twice, as my focus is now gone and I'll be flitting about from project to half finished project like an ADHD butterfly again.

After seing the professor version and yours, I can only conclude that this fellow here really has an attitude problem! :)

:o that was a bad one.
A slower month for me this time, I was unable to paint for a large chunk in the middle of the month (side effects of medication) but here is what I did get done:
The Stargate
(http://revford.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/scenery-stargate-base-construction-7.jpg)
UNIT Hero, Wounded Paratrooper and two Dogs
(http://revford.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/scifi-unit-cpt-henry.jpg)(http://revford.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/pulp-paras-wounded-1.jpg)(http://revford.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/dog-1.jpg)(http://revford.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/dog-2.jpg)
Also a few more Modern British from TAG that I've not had a chance to photograph yet.
Hopefully April will produce a bigger crowd of completed models.

Fantastic effort jolly Bob :)
And yes, just a little joke on my part, aren't I a wag?

It all counts, buddy. :)
This is superb, this month, everybody seems to be really getting into the friendly competition of it.
Although I suspect that some people are normally this prolific without being egged on. :x

Nothing in the way of figures painted but I did get a Martian terrain project finished for a recent convention.
A ground mat, some rough ground pieces and a ruined town.
I'm going to do some more experiments with wool as the ground mat material. I think that brushing the nap
up with a stiff scrub brush after the base coat is dry and then drybrushing the highlight colors could yield a nice effect.

But if you show your stuff you cant enter the LAF League two :freak: not that I stand a chance of winning but hey looking forward to all the new eye candy

A Monolith:
When did that thing move from the moon? (Was it the moon?)
-
It was indeed on the Moon. After it left Africa, that is.
I got my first-ever full unit(s) of 28mm painted - 5 Copplestone hunters and about 14 Pulp Figures aviators, as well as a whole bunch of 15mm SF stuff from GZG. Was a good month. No pictures yet, though. I can't find my desktop tripod...
-
The one on the moon was a different one to the one in Africa. The African one is still buried somewhere. It will be discovered and dug up in the 26th Century.
As far as I remember there were three. The African one (TMA ZERO), the Tycho crater one (TMA ONE), and the massive one orbiting Jupiter (TMA TWO), that eventually ends up on Europa.
It's hard to be canonical with this story, though. Because all four books exist as seperate entities, and they have their own continuity that is at odds with the others. For instance, in 2001 they orginally go to Saturn, not Jupiter. Clarke made no attempt to be consistent, each new book retconned what had happened in the previous ones (sometimes to incorporate new scientific knowledge, others just seemingly for the fun of it).
(Sorry, nerd alert. It's just that I read 3001: Final Odyssey a couple of months ago :) )
-
I only did 5 zeppelin troopen and 5 chinese with fur hats
but I did scratch build 2 houses and cut the pieces and stuck the walls on 2 more.
Now for april..........
Build wargames board, more houses and walls and paint final 25 figs of my chinese army for interwar.
Now theres a target.
:)
My wife hates this hobby but actually helped and enjoyed helping me do a building. Now theres a strange thing.

Jollybob love the pygmies! Excellent!Pappa really class projects....does the 1:43 van work well with 28mm?There seemsto be a lot of cheap 1:43 stuff on E-bay at the mo.
-
Pappa Midnight and JollyBob these stuff is fantastic I must copy the raptor color code and the van is :o
wow!!!

Grimm
-
The killer plants are from Wargames Supply Dump:
http://www.wargamessupplydump.co.uk/specials.htm
I got one of the closed ones too, very nice. I may get some more at some point. Got a couple of packs of Critters while I was at it too. :) They were fun to paint.
I'm surprised you like the raptors so much, they were a quick job to get them off the end of the desk as they'd been sat there for months and I was sick of looking at them - no thought processes required!
-
