Title: The Island (South of Arnhem)
Post by: alcal on January 22, 2013, 10:56:37 AM
Ive been asked about Teddy Bear Fur and how i produce it as a layout, this is probably the best `pictorial` showing how back then i pioneered my way through to the end result.Ive made a few layouts since then but this was the ground breaker for me, questions allways welcome, hope you pick up a few techniques from this.
Cheers Alan

There is a larger `sister board to this (Nijmegen) and the river (with bridges) connecting boards between the two, also the actual game shots from the Arhem weekend when we fought over this lot .

Amazing work. What did you use to paint the fur?

Post by: alcal on January 22, 2013, 02:46:02 PM
When painting Fur only use water based paint,at first i would airbrush Tamiya onto it but its a bit expensive to keep that up,eventually i ended up watering down matt emulsion from the pic ur own range at mose DIY stores.

The fur i used is about 25mm deep and yes it needs shearing (hair clippers).

Cheers AL

Normally  a fixed 1.5 meter width and  as many linear meters as is on the roll at about £12-14 a meter.

Absolutely brilliant - so good that I am in two minds; chuck it all in because I don't have some terrain like this, or be inspired to try and make terrain like this  :)

20mm or 1/72.

A great board and great miniatures is always a good thing.

Superb. The sea moss trees are just what I need, but I bit too late now! What sort of sizes do they come in? Would they fit in with 28mm?
