Hello all,
Apologies for those who have already seen this on TMP or the Studio Tomahawk forum ... but figured I'd re-post this here.
I been working on a Fort William Henry project for Muskets and Tomahawks for some time now ... and the end is nigh (fort is complete, artillery crews are painted, painting guns now).
Details on my blog (in several posts) outlined below - from concept to a complete fort model.

To complete the scenario (around the siege), I've also constructed a French siege position that will face off against the fort:

I'll post more progress as I make it.

My compliments on building a fort that is way too big! I enjoyed your blog about the fort and the project's construction.
I am a little familiar with building and gaming on forts that are way too big. You and I are kindred spirts in this regard.
Please look here http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=37746.0 at my Fort Duquesne model and game.
It was really a pleasure seeing your project. Congratulations on a great effort!

Thanks --- wow, that fort is awesome ... I had seen a picture of it when I was doing some research online but it was just an image search and there was only a single picture --- I'd love to see more pictures! Who's buildings are you using or did you make the whole thing from scratch? (this may be answered in the thread ... I'll go read the whole thing here shortly) :-)

And thanks everyone for the kind words! :-)

Veeery nice setup! The all fort is an eye candy! Just not really into your grass look, but it's just me! ^_^

sotek486, yes The Fort Duquesne is all my scratch construction. The glacis was a lot of effort to make, but a solution was found to do it through using a foam cutter to cut the gentle slopes in a jig to make the star shape neede for the Vauban style fort.
The foam cutters I use are industrial products I purchased and are very expensive. They are intended for making architectural details for buildings. These tools come in dimensions of 12, 18 and 50 inches wide (hot wire). I also use a foam channel cutting tool that takes different cutters and also can be fitted with a "bend your own" nichrome blade style cutter assembly. I have used these tools for many years to make wargame terrain and stage theater set pieces.
There are some photos of a Southwest train game I made elsewhere on this site. That game included mountains I carved with these tools that can be seen in the background behind the town.

@ffrum ... thanks --- I did go back and read the full thread and found the additional pictures. I'll stick with my cheapy/lame foam cutter ;-) lol
