I'm currently making a bunch of pulp greens although I'm not sure if they'll ever go anywhere.
I'll add more as they are completed.
Obviously a tough guy.
An lady who means business. More Spy-fi than pulp.
An intrepid explorer. He might need a hat.

-
Those greens look very nice, I wish I had a fraction of your talent so that I could make some of my own. I can only use green stuff to fill gaps... :)
-
Nice work all around but I really like the third figure. I don't think he need a hat though 8)
-
Very nice, although I do agree, the lady is later than classic pulp in appearance, more spy-fi.
Bald intrepid explorer does fine without a hat, I think.
About the only thing I've ever successfully made out of greenstuff is flags, so well done anyone who manages to actually sculpt with the stuff!
-
Top work! A Bob Murch vibe on the first one.
The pose on the female is a little odd, though.
I love the aged explorer. No need for a hat, but what about a separate one as an option?
Keep it up!
P.S. Whatever happened to those Welsh figures?
-
Thanks for the kind replies folks.
I'm getting through these guys pretty quickly now (a few are waiting for final bits and pieces) and here is another one:
Knuckles McDougle
(http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg91/ikhemm/Pulp_4_zps6cf059f4.jpg)
P.S. Whatever happened to those Welsh figures?
I sold them to Sergeant Major Miniatures but I don't know what they intend to do with them. They may have been released but I'm not sure.
-
While they all look great, Knuckles looks the nuts!
:-*
-
Knuckles is great, in that his pose is very dynamic. These all have a little bit of a Bob Murch feel to them.
-
Gosh, you are producing these quickly....... :o
-
This is some good stuff. As someone has already commented, they are similar in style to Pulp Figures. I think they would be very comparable with Bob's stuff.
-
I like Tough Guy, the Intrepid Explorer and Knuckles, they're full of character. The Explorer would look good in an (optional) pith helmet or bowler. :)
-
Loving these guys. Agree they are very similar in style to Mr. Murch's stuff and that is no bad thing. Looking forward to seeing more.
Cholly
-
You should be very pleased with your self, these are very Pulp. Excellent
-
Superb work. Well done!
-
great looking figs.
Ever think of giving the old explorer a lantern? Not a flashlight, but an old lantern?
I like the small gun the woman has. Is that supposed to be a PPK? Maybe if you looked up women's fashion for the era you are shooting for you'd get a better pulp feel for her.
-

No,no, no... She's supposed to be 60's/70's spy-fi. lol
I did her a couple of weeks back and she's just been sitting there on my bench. I finished her whilst doing the pulp figs.
-
Here's another figure. Not as dynamic as the others but I wanted a "Non-action" type lady - You know, an investigative, thinking type as opposed to the gun toting, martial arts types "typical" of the era (well... the current Hollywood idea of typical for this era).
-
Again...Brilliant. I will buy these if you can get them cast.
-
Again....excellent work. I would be interested in buying if they become available.
-
I see you have put these greens up for sale. Good luck with that.
-
I finished another green today. This guy is a sea faring kind of guy oft seen frequenting dockside bars.
-
Another great sculpt.
This is quite a range that you are putting together here.
-
Are you taking crowd requests for an encore?
-
You really should consider making your own miniature-business like Murch and Copplestone and others! :)
-
2nd that. You have some skills!
-
And here's another couple of little green fellows.

:o :o :o
These are just getting better and better!
:-* :-* :-*
-
Love the guy with the lump of wood. :)
-
Those last 2 are excellent, these just keep getting better and better. More Please!!
:)
-
Excellent! :-* I like 'em all. :)
-
Love the guy with the lump of wood. :)
Seconded, overall great figures. :)
-
Thanks for all the kind replies folks. I'll be adding a couple more soon.
-
Great! I wish I could sculpt like that!
-
Greetings LAF Folks. I've slowed down a bit over the past few days due to personal reasons but anyhow, here's the next installment of my pulp figures. This guy is a tough, square jawed, space faring kind of guy. I'll be sculpting a female sidekick for him soon so they can go off into the far reaches of Outer Space seeking cosmic adventure.
More to come soon!
-
Whilst sculpting a couple of weeks back I heard, on the radio, about the passing of Patty Andrews. So, I was inspired to do these little ladies (sorry the pic isn't very good - It's evening here and the light is poor).
Anyway...
-
These are great! Really good job! :o
-
:o Love them. Are you going to cast them (all off them :D)
regards,
Za
-
I like those girls- I could see them in Black BUF uniforms for VBCW
-
You cave some lovely looking minis there fella. The Andrews sisters are right up there for me. I would definitely buy them if they were case....and probably knuckles and mr lump of wood.
-
I'm with smokezombie on this!
-
Oh man, those Andrews Sisters a sure-fire winner for WWII/Interwar/VBCW.
Definitely recommend casting those or seeing if someone will pick them up.
-
The Andrews Sisters!?!?! 8) Absolutely Awesome! :-*
Okay, deep breath. :)
Please, please, please, somebody pick them up. It's this kind of ultra cool (chill, Glenn,) that I would make an exception for when it comes to larger figures before retirement. Some perfect for so many things where a pistol/blaster/sword is simply not needed!
Okay, how do I book mark a thread on LAF again?
Gracias,
Glenn
-
You've really tapped into the spirit of Pulp with these! Possibly a great start to your own miniature line (hint)
-
Hi folks,
Thanks for all the positive replies. I have a couple more figures to sculpt and then they be getting cast through Eureka Miniatures. I'll be releasing them myself through Fiendish Fabrications (I'll be sorting out the website and keeping only a some of the current figures). I'm sculpting fast at the moment - Truth is I'm giving up smoking so I keep sculpting to keep my mind off the cigarettes. o_o
They should be available in about two weeks or thereabouts.
Cheers and thanks again,
IanKH
-
That's good news.
Good luck with this project- you have got some talents.
-
My wife approves :)
She and two of her students sang some Andrews Sisters a few years back for a school event. She's very impressed with the sculpts!
-
Yes, lovely work.

Great news!
I shall have to pick these up when they are ready, there is some cracking stuff in there.
8)
I have just jacked in that smoking lark myself, so I sympathise with the keeping busy thing.
I kept really busy modelling for the first week to keep my mind off of it and it certainly helped.
Slowed down to my usual crawl since, though....
Good luck and keep at it, both the stopping and the sculpting!

Thanks, I need all the help I can get ;D
And it's amazing how productive you can get.
-
Good news, indeed! Good luck, Ian!
-
Good luck with the quitting smoking! I'm in the same boat & man it is HARD >:(! The sculpts are looking great too.

Outstanding! I see some figures bigger than 1/600th in my future.
Stay in there on the cigarette thing 8) - one (probably only) ::) vice that never appealed to me - but I saw the struggles :o my Mother had with that. Some people (my Dad) get off the first time but others (my mother) struggle with multiple efforts. From what I see it is worth it in the end. 8) ;)
Gracias,
Glenn

And here she is... The Outer Space gal that you've all been waiting for:
-
I also finalised this little lady from earlier and gave her a partner.

-
Great stuff.
Looking forward to these being released.
:-*
(Space Girl looks like she has a nose ring in that third pic.. ;))
-
He looks a bit like Burt Reynolds! love 'em!
-
Your sculpting is coming along in leaps and bounds. Nice work!
-
Ooh. I like the space girl and Burt fella.
-
Very nice and I'm looking forward to the 18 mm versions of many of these (not the space'y' ones, though). So, when will you be adding these in my scale? lol Well, seriously, love to see this in my scale.
-
It's been a while since I've added anything to this thread. I was awaiting the delivery of some more armatures (because I hate making them).
Anyway, here are two more to add to the growing list.
This first one is another adventurer to add to the other adventurers to make up a set of 5.
And this guy is the Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy to go with the not-Andrew Sisters.
-
Superb, are they on sale yet?
-
Dude with kukri might just be my favourite of yours yet.
Very much a Bob Murch vibe, which is a term of high praise, far as I'm concerned!
-
That 'Adventurers' set is going to be a 'must-have' for Pulp fans!
:-* :-* :-*
-
Thanks, again, for the king comments. I'm currently finishing off the sets I've already started as well as starting two more space inspired sets: One based on the Robinson Family from Lost in Space and another with a Space 1999 look (70's retro sci-fi).
Superb, are they on sale yet?
I'm almost at the point of getting the first moulds and casts done. I was going get them cast last week but decided (on advice) to complete the sets and then get them cast. Good advice.
-
We're definitely wanting these! :-*
That one with the kukri is top-notch!
THANKS
-
The more you do the more Murch they become. Each one is a little cleaner than the last.
The Bugler would make a great addition to any WWII Armed forces inspired Leagues. He could be sounding the Charge!
-
Greetings folks,
For those interested I've sent 4 sets of figures to Eureka Miniatures to be moulded and cast. These are:
1 - Male Explorers (bald torch guy, rugged looking guy, knuckles and kukri guy),
2 - Not the Andrew Sisters and the Bugle Boy,
3 - Ruffians (Singlet guy with broken bottle, Guy with the 2x4, two guys with woolen hats (the guy with the axe has been remodeled holding a 2x4 at his side),
4 - Spy-Fi/70's Cops (Guy smoking, Stalking with pistol, Guy from UNCLE, Lady with small pistol).
-
Just for starters, you can count on us ordering #1 & #3 when these are avaialble. :-*
Good Luck!
-
Ditto on getting some of them. Already said I liked the guy with the 2x4. :)
-
Fantastic - in a non-fantasy way!!!
-
I shall be ordering too, keep us posted on developments.
-
If you need an extra hand painting some samples, I work for lead. ;)
These are looking great and I can't wait to see them cast up.
-
Thanks again for the positive feedback. I'll be picking up the first castings tomorrow so I'll post some pics of them asap.
-
Isn't it tomorrow there yet? Can't wait to see these castings!
-
I would buy set 3 and 4
-
Apologies for not having posted the figures yet. Had a bit of a set back with a friend passing away. Will get them done soon.
-
Looking forward to seeing these in production. 8)

Sorry to hear that.
-
Sorry to hear about your friend..
Some of these minis look great for vbcw and I'd like to give them a spot in my vbcw minis guide website. Where will they be available from?
-
Greetings Folks,
Here are the first pics of the cast greens. These are not the best pics just some quickies taken today.
They should be available within he next few days or so. I'll keep you folks posted about when and where.

-
I love the NOT Man From UNCLE gun the second guy is carrying.
-
Superb, I shall definitely be putting an order in.
-
Sorry to hear of your loss.
But on a positive note, these look great! Great job on all these, some of your best work yet. Now finish out the Sci-Fi set so I can scrounge up for one of each.
-
Beautiful, Ian! You deserve to be very proud. Please keep us updated.
GOOD LUCK!
