I'm painting up some Dwarves for a Warlords battle report I'm involved in next month. I have 20 total I have to paint up (for my 1500 pts) and this is my first batch. Sorry the picture isn't all that great. I plan to use these for playing Song of Blades as well. Hope you like 'em.

I like them, the greenish armour looks nice somehow, unusual but nice!
-
I also think the green armor is unusual but very nicely done.
They're nice sculpts and you've done very nicely with them. Are they Reaper? Any time I see something Big Fantasy but don't immediately recognize it as GW I assume it's Reaper.
-
Yep, those Dwarves look great to me. I like the look of the green armour, but I'm not too sure about the blue badges etc. Maybe a reddish brown or dull orange would appeal to me a bit more...... but that Griffon is outstanding!
Any chance of a close up or two?
-
Thanks a bunch. Yeah, that wasn't exactly the colors I set out to do, but as I was messing around with the armor is just kind of happened and I like it.
Pete - you are correct, they are all Reaper.
Gluteus Maximus - actually now that you mention the dull orange I think that would look really good (thanks for the suggestion). I'll try it out on the next batch. I can try to get some close ups but I'm not sure my painting will survive that test. I have a long ways to go to approach the quality of painting on this site!

Nice. 8)

Good looking bunch! The green is indeed a bit oddlooking when you see it the first time, but I like it the more I see it.
How do you like Warlord? I bought the rulkes, but never managed to go any further then reading...
-
Thanks guys!
Braxandur, actually this will be my first game of Warlords as well. I'm like you, I read the rules and haven't gotten around to playing a game yet.
-
Very nice. I really like how your leader turned out (the one with the white beard). The golden wings on his helmet are a nice touch, it goes well with the green armor.
This will be a tough little group for SBH too.
-
That's really effective! I like it a lot.

very nice

So, this is the Lead Adventure forum, so here's the start of the adventure...(this is a series of scenarios I'm working on for my game group using Song of Blades)
When Hromlik created the first Dwarf and set him upon the land he took his creation into the mountains. For 50 years he taught Agner (for that is what he named his creation) the ways of metal and stone and showed him how to harness fire to build many wonderful things. Then when Hromlik was satisfied, he created more Dwaves and told Agner to take his people and build themselves a home in the mountains. This is how Hromhome Halls was created and settled by the descendants of Agner.
(from “The Lineage of Dwarven Kings”, translated by Jervis Costman III)
By proclamation of King Agner the Founder, every 50 years the King of Hromhome Halls must lead a small group of Dwarves, the number being 20 to represent the first founders to the rock where Hromlik passed his gift of knowledge to his children. The hammer must once again strike an anvil with mighty blows so that Hromlik knows his children have not forgotten his gift.
(from “The Laws of the Dwarves”, translated by Jervis Costman III)
Another 50 years has passed and once again a king must fulfill the law. This is how the story begins…
The King:
King Gangrin III is an oddity among Dwarves, but one of the most able kings Hromhome Halls has had in centuries. His father had him live among the humans for 15 years to gain an understanding of their new neighbors. While amongst the human royalty, King Gangrin took a fascination with falconry and flight (very peculiar behavior for a Dwarf!). Because of this, King Gangrin spends a lot of time above ground with his falcon, Fyrna, a gift from the human king Lacious Bromin. It was during this time hunting that he found the griffon egg that sparked his desire to raise it to be his own. This griffon he named Vammas, and she can be seen at King Gangrin’s side anytime he is on the surface.

The High Priest of Hromlik:
Kavis Roscot, the High Priest of Hromlik is old enough to have made all 5 of King Gangrin’s journeys in addition to making 2 with Gangrin’s father. The High Priest not only oversees the ritual, but is also responsible for crafting and transporting the anvil to the site of the ritual. Kavis is probably on his last journey, but he’s still strong enough not to let the others see just how heavy his load feels at his age.

The Kings Guard:
Egerin Thrask has served as Captain of the King’s Guard for countless years. If it was his choice all the available spots would be filled by his guard, but as it is, he was only allowed to bring his most trusted five warriors. Only the King’s Guard is allowed to wear the King’s Blue on their armor.

Shieldmaidens:
The first Dwarven women were tough warriors and passed down their skills through the generations. It has always been tradition that some shieldmaidens make the journey. This will be the 3rd journey for the King’s oldest daughter Myra Gangrin. Riding atop her bear, Lerrick, she is also accompanied by 3 of her finest captains.

The Brewmaster’s Guild:
The Brewmaster’s Guild has prospered greatly under the reign of King Gangrin III (a known lover of hearty ales). The fear of losing such a great patron is something none of the Guildmasters could even dare to ponder. So at great expensive and through much political strong-arming they managed to gain 4 appointments in this year’s journey. They have hired the famed mercenary, Ulgrin Backlish and 3 of his halberdiers to make sure the King survives anything dangerous that might be encountered along this journey.

The Scouts:
The most famous scout of this generation is very young by Dwarven standards. Only 76 years of age, Greta Nutruk has mastered the ways of the surface and the “below” better than most scouts triple her years. There was no doubt she would scout for this mission and many more to come. Any creature with thoughts of sneaking up on this group of Dwarves traveling out of their natural environment will soon discover a quick end by means of one of her crossbow bolts.

That's phase II. Now to make some terrain!
-
and get some pics of your oppoints to.
SO what type of terrain are in the works?
-
I'm wanting to make some mountainous looking terrain. So lots of big rocks and evergreens.
As for the "enemy" one of my gaming buddies has painted up a ton of skaven, so it looks like ratmen for the baddies.
