Title: Zombie Town Mk I & MK II buildings
Post by: Amalric on 02 February 2013, 10:54:10 PM
And now for your viewing pleasure, an fine example of a pair of buildings from my Zombie Town MK I.
Not to pretty, but for ATZ solo play when time and money are ultra rare, these worked just fine.
Shown on one of my WIP 2' square city street boards.

Now MK I while perfectly playable, is as you can see were slightly unsatisfactory in the aesthetics department.
Having found that I don't care to make paper building models, I came upon this notion that fit with the American early twentieth century commercial style of building so prevalent in small town America that I wanted to make [anyone see the future pulp applications ;)]. Build foam core boxes, and print out the details on adhesive paper while not worrying about brick textures or interiors ie paint the box. And so without further ado, the trial MK II buildings.

These work just fine for me and I am building them so the store inside each other and inside a storage tubby.
Images mostly scrounged online.
Any and all comments welcome.
Thank you.

Your Mark II buildings look great.
With the cost of buildings now days,
if you can save some money,
then you can buy more figures. ;)
Well done.

That is a very clever idea, especially storing them inside each other.

A whole 'town' in that style will have a great look all of its own.

A company called scale scenes does  an o gauge range of building textures you might like. You can just print them out and glue them on. I use them for loads of stuff as I hate painting buildings. There really cheap as well £3 a PDF and its yours to print as much as you like.

Can you please do a tutorial for the Mark I versions.  They seem to be more aligned with my skill set.  ;)
