I'm not entirely sure what to call them, but for the moment scavenger gryphons seems appropriate as they're sort of a vulture/hyena hybrid.
Got any ideas on what to call 'em?
Designed and sculpted by both myself and Alex of Warploque miniatures.

And some wolf ladies...

Anyway, both sets off for casting today. You know I would have preferred to say tomorrow, however ended up working on them until about 3 this morning. o_o

You're welcome. I really do like your creations; SO thanks for posting them.
With the price of postage these days, forgetting mailing things is very understandable...I won't hold you to it. However, she'd probably enjoy the Spooky Woods.

The vulture hounds look really cool! I still dislike the freaky wolf chicks, the physique just looks off.
-
I like the vulture gryphon thingies, how big are they? 8)
Don't like the thickness of the bases though, I prepare them thinner.
-
:-* WOW :-*
The Scavenger Gryphons are outstanding! Will they be cast up for sale?
-
Nice. GW make something similar, they call them demigryphs. I think I like your version better. The only thing I can think of is gryphcon, like a condor. Not very good, but you asked.

They're roughly 40mm to their maximum height and roughly 60mm from beak tip to their rear!
As for the bases, well, never mind.

Oh yes.

Thanks for the attempt. And yeah I know of the demigryphs, slight reasoning behind these.

I thought so, which is why I asked about the size. ;)
As for names, no real ideas. Gryphengers? Vultagryphs? Hyenagryphs?
-
I must say those gryphons are rather something...
Beasts of Bergil :p
Mayeb Necrosyrtes or Neophron beasts??
I dunno hopefully someone will come up with something "right" for them..

They initially reminded me of vulture lions but Melniboneon Vulture Lions were a tad larger.

Nice anyway :)

Like them!
Geierhounds?
-
I got one of the Vulture Lions in the mail and he is pretty impressive.

I was thinking more of the Dharzi devil dogs from Weird of the White Wolf myself :)
-
Quite a few people have mentioned these Dharzi devil dogs and whilst I must admit they look very similiar, I did not know of them at the time of sketching out the critters.
My idea was of a gryphon turned bad really...
-
haha, I think they look great, I'm tempted to use them as chaos hounds myself, once I make a noticeable impact in the lead mountain
the only reason I mentioned the Dharzi is because I was rereading some Elric books last month
