Anyone have any information concerning S.P.Q.ORC?
There are rumours that Maveryc Games has closed down.

That would be too bad if they went under. I was hoping to get the boxed set sometime this year. It was lower on my priority list, as I would not be able to get anyone to play with me likely, but the figures were really nice!
-
Well that's a bugger, the box set was on my shopping list for this month too :(
Rob Alderman has had a lot of involvement in all things Pax Bochemannica so hopefully he will pop along before too long & shed some some light on the situation for us.
-
weird, I ahve them on face book will check anything on there tonite, sure they only just released it the other week

Hi Guys, Mac is working on a statement about all this.
I'm sorry to say, but unfortunately, Miniature Design Studio and Maveryc have had to close down.
But at the moment, I do have to leave it to Mac to create an official statement.

What a bloody shame hope its nothing serious for the chaps involved

That's completely understandable, Rob. Thanks for the info, even though it wasn't really the kind of news that any of us wanted to hear :(
-
That's a shame I had a box set penciled in to get very shortly :(
-
That is a shame, you would have done a great job. Let's hope it will return at some point.
I vist your website regularly for inspiration. You painted those Panzerfauste models and Flintloque models incredibly well (if you ever want to sell the PZF models, let me know!!!).
-
Oh that just sucks :(
-
Such a shame :'( Really hope it finds its way back at some point.

Cheers. I actually still have a set of PF gnome legion to paint somewhere, I must have a dig in the lead mountain .. :?
I see Steve at Wessex has previewed some new figures so it might be he's getting the figures back into production at some stage
-
He's sent off some Orc Highlanders to the moldmakers with some Darke Lands dwarves (which are gorgeous, sculpted by Bob Olley).

Just prior to all this news of Maveryc Closing down there was a blog post giving details of Maveryc Games' first retail stockist.
Caliver Books, Newthorpe, see this link;

I hope that this helps.

Yeah, it would appear you can order Pax Bochemannica from Caliver Books. Worth giving it a go.
-
Sorry, problems of posting late at night, this should have been in the BoB thread!
As Manuel said, ' I know nothing'!
-
Hello, just sent you a PM, trying to get some clarity on that!
-
Still no information?
Anyone have any news?
I saw this on Frothers and realised why it is that I rarely browse this Forum;

There was also this and once again realising why I shouldn't visit this Forum!

OK not much to add. But I still think it is worth stating that according to TMP Caliver Books have bought the MDS Ancients range.
A coincidence?
See this thread on TMP;

Mac announced that:
"Maveryc aintent ded, just lying down" - His words! ;D
I assume this means Mac is making some kind of decision, assume being the key word here. :)
-
Thats a very short announcement ;)
But I'm very happy with it! Last weekend I started painting the Nomans from the starterset and I really like the poses and the size of them.

*please* post some pics, I'd love to see them!

The Nomans are in the WIP fase so only some base colours:

I did however finish a Boche (sword need touching up):

Sorry for the poor quality pictures; have to practice ::)

Those are great! :D

Very good painted Orcs and Halflings.
I would hope that we would see some news soon on what Mac has decided.

Caliver Books had at least one box set for sale at the West Midlands Military Show (Alumwell) earlier today. The price ticket was £35.00.
Sorry, but I was not able to glean any other information.

Yup, he was registered as a stockist just before Dave closed the company.
-
Bish, Bash, Boche or how to build Boche Halfling Roundhouses is featured in the current issue of Miniature Wargames - issue 360 - from April 2013.
The article written by me has details of how I scratch-built some Halfling Roundhouses to be used in the demonstration games.
Check out this post on my Blog;
http://dampfpanzerwagon.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/miniature-wargames-360.html
The same techniques could be used to model more historically accurate Roundhouses.
I hope that you like it.

I am pleased to announce that you can still buy S.P.Q.Orc - Pax Bochemannica products from Caliver Books.
All the stock that Maveryc had made up has gone to Caliver Books to be sold to you guys.
It's a really great game, and I am led to believe it is simply on hiatus.
-
Did none of the new figures that were previewed make it to production?
-
Yeah, I just don't know if Dave at Caliver has them.
I actually have 6 halflings that never made it in, and there were a couple more that Dave was working on too. :(
-
Is it correct to say the cooperation between Mac and Dave has ended? (for whatever reason).
That would be a pity as I really like the sculpting style on the Nomans an the Boche. I would like to see more miniatures like that.

No, not quite. That makes it out like there was a falling out.
Dave has some personal issues to sort out that are more important to him than the running of Maveryc and MDS. He has taken a break from Wargaming, sculpting and the internet.
Be assured that as soon as Dave is ready, there are no hard feelings from myself, nor Mac. Speaking for myself, I am more concerned for his wellbeing than anything else, even if that means Maveryc is shelved forever.
And yes, I cannot imagine any other sculptor working on Pax Bochemannica. Dave was actually helping me get better at sculpting and I finished 6 more halflings in 'his style'. :)
