A great page on the amazing Retronaut site, showing many SCW posters:

Negras tormentas agitan los aires
nubes oscuras nos impiden ver..... etc etc.
Nice posters but the one about drunks being parasites is a bit beyond the pale. Oh well revolutionary fervor and all that.

Every rifle propped against the bar, is a rifle for the enemy... ;)

lol straight edge trots!

Yep, high time we had a commemoration. Trots: 100 years of being humourless bastards.

Good post, but not enough Nationalist posters for my liking. Arriba España!

Because Dictators/Fascists are known for their sense of humour ... ;)

Fortunately, it's not and never has been purely question of Trots vs Fascists. The progressive left is a broad spectrum old chum. Never seen a Fascist who was intentionally funny. Actually I can think of very few right wingers who are particularly funny except in the funny- peculiar sense.

Agreed old boy. An interesting piece on the radio yesterday (BBC Radio 4 - you can get it on the I-Player) about how Orwell came to write Animal Farm and 1984.
Cheers, James

The posters are nice :). I knew some of them, but I must confess that others were totally unknown to me, specially most of the catalonian ones.

I haven't comprehensively counted all the Republican posters there, but 12 out of the first 22 ones are in Catalan language instead of Spanish, regardless of the political party/union/institution behind them.

Yes, it's nice, I keep on learning new things every day.

Here's a link to an extensive collection of posters. The propaganda posters have their own section, starting from the US Civil War so there's plenty to see for many periods over there.

Nice one! I knew most from a site called the Visual Front that had some good resolution images. It seems to be offline now.
This one is my favorite, got it on my wall somewhere. "Don't Steal Radios!" lol
