Nice, very nice figures :good: :good: :good:

I think i will do the prone figs on irregular bases ,the figures on pennies you should note are `shiny pennies`as they hold onto magnetic paper for transport, the trenches i have added the slimmest base i can think of ie paper but its coated in super glue for strength.

Ok block colours are on and shading begun ,the block theme is mid brown to go lighter for sand and darker for brown, field grey and Afrika Corps green so four main colours:

Nice work, are they 20mm?

Do you just use pennies for your single man bases? What do you do for your multi-figure bases? Love everything you post, the guys you game with are incredibly lucky!

Thankyou,i use pennies for 20mm figs and 2 pence pieces for 28mm figs ,they are readily available ready made but more importantly the newer ones are magnetic .When transporting figures i tend to use http://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/html/boxdetails.php i then layer the box with one sided (sticky) http://www.magneticdisplays.co.uk/magnetic-displays you can buy the sheet material (or strips for cost saving).
The multi figure bases are just picture backing card or https://slatersplastikard.com/plastikard.php either way you then buy sheets of `steel paper`(from Magnetic Display) and add it to the underside of the bases.
The other option from me is steel bases that i have used on my 28mm as square 40mm x 40mm bases although they do all sorts of shapes and sizes
http://www.freewebs.com/pwsltd/steelbases.htm
Ok so in all cases you get a figure/group base that is magnetic and will hold position in the transport / storage box they hold pretty well unless you try spinnig the box above your head while shouting swing your pants ! :P
Cheers AL
Ps Once you have some magnetic paper just drop one`s and two`s onto it to test for magnetic-ness (is that a word) :?

Lovely.
I also notice that you have complete set of W&N inks. I use them a lot and find them indispensable.

They look Great and the basing is spot on.
what way did you do your bases and how did you paint them and what colours
I want to paint my German mountain troops up for Greece, which i don't think it will look much different.
Cheers

Hi David
The base material is talked about at length in the above posts, method well i simply super glue the figure to the base then superglue ballast/bits of stone to the top of the base. Then sperglue(spread with an old paint brush) all over the reamaing areas then immediately dip it in sand (it covers everything the stones dont).
As for colours i have no specific list but as its dry arrid terrain start with a mid brown and then heavy dry brush two lughter shades going lighter than you would imagine.Time to stick on some grass tufts then small touches of super glue here and there (again with an old brush) and add some later summer/olive flock.
Cheers ALAN
