Title: Far over the Misty Mountains rise...

I just finished my latest epic project -- the 13 dwarves from Games Workshop's range for the Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.  I had a lot of fun painting these little guys.  Chris did some converting on these figures prior to painting -- some of the figures were sculpted too tall to look like dwarves, so he shortened about half of them by cutting them off at the knees and trimming down their legs.

I tried to keep the colours as they were depicted in the GW art so they would look like the movie.   

I hope you like them also  :)

Oh my... I was just about to remark, how I think some of the dwarves look more like shrinked humans, and you tell that it was actually worse before conversion....

Nice paintjob, never the less, but I am happy with my decision, not to buy the Hobbit stuff (at first mainly based on the prices), if there's also issues with the size of characters.

Those are fantastic paint jobs.  I'm working on a set myself at the moment.  The only Dwarf I would say of being in danger of being too tall is Dwalin, who stands just under man-height.  That said, I think the implication is just that he is a seriously giant dwarf.  The heights of the Dwarves very a lot, but no more so than the heights of humans, and they all look pretty broad when put next to a human.

They are great minis, the most detailed plastics I've ever seen, and your paint jobs really bring that out.

Amazing conversion work on that troll, too.

Thanks for that :)  We thought the same thing and GW plastics are getting better and better.   Chris's troll conversion is one of my favourites!  And I was pleased that my dwarves stood up to his amazing painting  :-*
