Here are some pictures of my TACTICA presentation "Jabba Palace". I have used the miniatures form WotC and the D20 rules. Hope you like it...

I've just collected my jaw from off of the floor, excellent stuff.
This might be a stupid question but where are the miniatures from?
-
:-* :-* :-*
(I wish there was a "tears of joy" smilie...!)

Hi Giger,
Thank you! The miniatures are from „Wizard of the cost”. Unfortunately they are out of production, but there are a lot of online-traders were you can get them.
Some older pictures of “Hoth Echo-Basis”:

You REALLY don't do things by half Frank!!! :o :o :o :o
-
Gorgeous.
So good, I'd actually love to have a graphic novel just featuring models instead of artwork. It'd be an awesome way to re-tell the Star Wars stories :D
PS: One small caveat - I know it's a simple wizkids or whatever model, but that Darth Vader is awful. Far too "action" and dynamic of a pose. Doesn't fit his character at all! lol
-
More incredible pictures, are they for display only or is there a rules set for them?
-
@Elbows: Maybe you prefer this one…
(http://tabletopdeutschland.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/todesstern-004.jpg)
@Giger: There is a set of rules…it is called Star Wars Miniatures rules, better known as D20:
http://www.hollandhaven.f9.co.uk/starwars/RebelStorm_rules.pdf
With every miniature you buy, you get a stat-card with the character profile and special abilities:
…and the terrain on the pictures is also for gaming ;) :

Hi Frank,
That's absolutely inspiring.
Could you please share your tips to repaint WOTC miniatures?
Do you strip them? Are you using some short of dipping?
Thanks!
-
Hi Luke77,
Repainting the miniatures is very easy. Usually I use the original prepaint for the basic colours. First step is to dip/paint the miniatures with a “wash” (I use Armypainter Strong Tone Ink). After the wash has dried, I paint to layers of highlights and some “black-lining” at the end. That’s it…
Here are some more photos. They show my first star wars miniatures game-board, the deathstar.

Fantastic work! Thanks for sharing your painting tips.
-
Amazing stuff. :-*
-
Everything here is better than the previous one! :-*
-
:o :o :o
Frank, once again you've made my jaw hit the floor!!
Cholly
-
I'm truly in awe, I checked the miniatures out on ebay but they seem expensive but I guess that comes from being out of print. I'll add them to my dream wish list...
-
I assume you are the same Frank whose paper terrain website (http://www.niubniubsuniverse.com/download/00downloadmenu.asp) this is all from? :) It's really amazing stuff.
-
:o :o :o :o
Bloody hell, Frank!
Will you please stop now?
I am not sure that we can take much more of this.
It is all sheer :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
(I was considering a Mos Eisley project for this year, but dont think I will bother now until this thread has left the collective forum memory for a while..... ::))
-
Thanks to this truly awesome thread I'm now the proud owner of the ROTS and Hoth sets along with some other miniatures which I'm going to add to in the coming months. To be honest the original paint jobs aren't all that bad (at least at arms reach) but I'm going to try my hand at improving them though I don't think I'll be able to reach your standard.
-
:o :-*
Wonderful stuff, many many thanks for posting for our vieving pleasure Frank. Are all the vehicles from WOTC as well?
-
:o :o :o :o :o
All I can say.....
:-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
Will you paint mine??? Truly gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!!
Regards,
Hitman

The vehicles (AT-AT, AT-ST, Snowspeeder…) are made by WotC, the spaceships (Falcon, X-Wing…) are Revell “easykits”.
Here are two more pictures. They are showing the gameboard of Frank Germershaus. He also sculpted the fantastic Max Rebo Band…

Thanks for info Frank.
Great looking band and board. It's a true shame that Max Rebo band has not had a tour in our galaxy... :)
-
Frank, you are the Master.
A really big thank you for sharing your talents.
-
Absolutely amazing boards and figures -- and amazing photography as well. The Hoth battle shots and the Death Star interiors in particular (like the one with Tarkin at the screen) are great examples of framing and storytelling.
-
Yet more incredible terrain and the band is ace

:o ...................WWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW

That is so amazing I nearly wept... :o
Stunning!
Yes he's right, pretty sure everyone has wanted to do that at some point. Hats off to the stunning quality of everything.
Death Star II battle next please ;)
-
HOLY CRAP that's amazing!
-
Incredible stuff. Which minis are these on ebay? Looks like loads on there but I'm not sure which is which for scaling.

Here you go: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Wargames-RolePlaying-/16486/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=star+wars+miniatures&_sop=1
The key is searching for 'star wars miniatures'

Stunning! thanks for sharing!

I had to recheck this thread to make sure I wasn't dreaming. There is nothing I can add that hasn't been already said. The only thing I can say is that it looks just like the movies. no scratch that, it looks better than the movies. It makes me want to throw everything in the garbage and start again.
