To represent some German-trained WW 2 Chinese troops in 15mm, I would like to model puttees on several platoons' worth of Battlefront WW 2 Hungarians. Can anybody recommend an effective and not overly-tricky way of doing so?
I've found many posts about covering puttees, but very few about modelling them.
Some ideas that I've considered include:
- Winding very narrow strips of paper around their legs, but that would be very tricky to do in 15mm, especially given how feet tend to be stuck to bases;
- Filing a puttee-like effect, but that would be a lot of work; or
- Using a suitable tool to model puttee-like grooves in some acrylic medium or thin putty.
