Title: Fallout Behemoth WIP (Centaur update)
Post by: Messyart on April 01, 2013, 03:25:03 AM
WIP. Starting to hate that "word", now.
So, anyone who recalls the Deathclaw may also like to know that it's still coming on (Pics sneakily in here) but I have been limited in my spare time now, for some time.

I sculpt too long, I get moaned at. I don't do it enough, I get moaned at! It's not a particularly inspiring position to be in, as you may understand.

So, I whipped out a toy I got from a Poundland trip. As I understand it, "Kilowog" from the green lantern... Stuff.
5" figure, perfect size I thought.

Well, pictures. I apologise immensely beforehand, the decent camera is currently powerless and I had to use bad lighting and a bad webcam. I will try getting good images in time.

I'm not going to lie, it's not fantastic. Work continues, anyway. I am having to tell myself to drop the dreams of casting it I'm getting, I need no more than one and it's so much more fun to make your own. I hope.
You tell me.

This is an up-to-date shot of the 'claw. Not too much has changed, though I've spent a bit of time on his legs. I realised that I'd had the pose and proportions of his various leg bones all wrong..

I like it a bit more. Currently working on shins (as mood allows..) and the face. Also got a plan to make the tail a bit... Easier for me. Discs of plasticard, wired together. Here's hoping..
..that you don't notice the WIP Molerat or Mr Handy/Gutsy beside him! ;D

And the bounty from a pre-halloween poundland trip!

Found a pack of little bugs. About 20 little spiders, 20 little ants and some bigger, rubbishy spiders.
The ants aren't anatomically correct. They seem to have two thorax's, but never mind! They make easy workers, and I think I'll paint them up a few different patterns to get different types of ant.

...Every image is mirrored because I forgot to edit them.. Poop.
Well, rounding off the last waking moments of my birthday with a thumbs up for you all c:

So, found a moment to myself to sculpt yesterday;

So, a nice size.
I decided to make it a bit.. Swappable, too. Mix up styles with the original Centaur.

Every time I look at that little face.. I expect it to be attacking Bruce Campbell.

I love the behemoth and your centaur is coming along nicely. I look forward to seeing the finished articles.

Well, a few more bits for the Centaur.

So the idea is that the torso can be left off, the big spaces where front arms go can be filled with weird head-stalks.

I also started to make a second torso piece today...
