Title: Grandville Miniatures coming soon
Post by: uti long smile on April 07, 2013, 05:11:56 PM
Crooked Dice are pleased to announce our collaboration with Ocelot Games to stock their new range of miniatures based on Bryan Talbot‘s acclaimed Grandville graphic novels. Elegantly dressed humanoid animals, steampunk technology, romance and violence abound in these sumptuously drawn tales of intrigue and adventure.

Grandville Miniatures are a range of 28mm scale figures from Ocelot Games suitable for fans of the books, steampunk devotees and wargamers.

The first figures of intrepid Detective Inspector LeBrock and Sergeant Ratzi of the Yard, are nearing completion. Sculpted by Jo Brumby, castings should be with us in time to sell at Salute on April 20th (ExCeL, London) on the Crooked Dice stand (TB08) and will be available in the Crooked Dice web store in the following week.

Love the Graphic Novels and Bryan Talbot's artwork, hope these take off. Would love to see some of the other characters in 28mm.

So fantastic in fact, that I've just gone and ordered all three Grandville books from Amazon.

These look really good. I've got an unread copy of the first book indoors - might be time to break that cover.

Those are every nice figures.

How many more are you planning to make?  And when?  Will they mostly be pistol, knife, club armed?  any plans for unarmed figures?  Anything heavier than longarms planned?

Since I do unit based buys as much as possible I would want a squad at the very minimum and a platoon at the most likely top end.

Since I don't know this author or the books involved I would want enough to produce a "Flying Squad" type unit at the least for my own games.  And there is the matter of appropriate foes (initially they could face off versus Victorian Humans or Venusians but if "Side A" has them then some dastardly fellow will discover how to recreate/produce their equivalents for "Side B" rather quickly.

Waiting for information/answers.

Gracias,

Glenn

Glenn

We are stocking these for Ocelot Games. They have the licence to produce the figures from the Bryan Talbot books. But this is the owners first venture into miniature production, so I imagine they will build the range slowly.

If they sell well then a couple more of the main characters have been discussed. After that maybe some minion/troops. We'll keep you posted though.
