Title: Desolate Car Suggestions
Post by: Mr. White on April 16, 2008, 02:09:57 AM
I've got a large amount of cars that I want to 'ruin' to use as terrain for my MDRG game. Any suggestions on how to rough up some cars to give them that old abandoned look?

I'm thinking unscrew the bottoms with the wheels and axis, banging them up with a hammer, then either priming them black to give them a 'burnt' paint job, or painting them up too look rusted and faded.  Finally, I plan to glue vegetation in and around them

Any other suggestions?

I'd strip them then paint black followed by some browns and a little orange to look like rusted out vehicles.  Break the headlights and crack or break windshields and add your vedetation and they should look great,

You can find some nice inspirational pictures here:

Personally I'd say smash them up with the bottom attached, be careful that you don't just collapse the passenger compartment, and be creative with shere you hammer. If the tyres are removable removing them will look good, as will leaving out any doors or seats. It all depends on the type of wreck I guess. For some pictures of my wrecks go here:
