Title: VSF Steam Flyer in paper
Post by: Wirelizard on 16 April 2008, 08:46:41 PM
Via Miniaturewargaming.com (http://www.miniaturewargaming.com/), a paper model "Albatros Steam Flyer": Steam Flyer (http://www.miniaturewargaming.com/index.php/mwg/comments/albatross_steam_flyer_paper_model/)

Just the thing to support an invasion of Old Blighty, or possibly of Prussia, your choice!

Nice model - I love the idea of a steam ornithopter. :D

I've just downloaded it and will make it up when i get a chance. This could inspire me to kit-bash a proper model along similar lines.

I'm sure I've seen plans for a 28mm card Aeronef type ship [Space 1889] somewhere, but have no idea of the URL.

If anyone knows of it's whereabouts, or alternatively can confirm that it doesn't exist & I've gone senile, please let me know.

Sadly not - although they do have some very nice airships....

I did find this pic, however;

Which at least confirms I'm not yet a complete basket case.

I'm now happily googling away until i find those plans  :)

This has the smaller ones. I think the site that hosts the larger one has been dead for some time.

I just found this old thread. I think a 'nef like that one could easily be scratch-built - even by me...

Not by me it couldn't. I struggle putting a cup of tea together.  ;)

 lol The tea I can do - it's anything involving sharp things that causes me problems  :(

I'm fairly safe with scissors, but it's no picnic.
