The 28mm Somalis will be available at the Eureka Miniatures stand at Salute, so I thought I'd paint some for display. Here's a couple of photos....

Gorgeous! :-*
And I must say that I'm very impressed with your sculpting, Kosta :) I might blame some of it on Carlos ranting about how good you are, but still, I really love the work you've been putting out and I wish I didn't see your moderns popping up so often on this forum, since the buy-need increases every time ;)

Khat-flavoured eye-candy, I love it.
What colour(s) did you use for the flesh?
-
Thanks guys.
What colour(s) did you use for the flesh?
Being an old school kind of guy, I use enamels and oils for flesh areas. I find it easier and faster plus they give me a better result than acrylics. Here's a run-down:
Base: Humbrol 62 (leather) + Winsor & Newton Burnt Umber.
Highlights: As above plus Humbrol 63 (flesh).
Shadows: Winsor & Newton Burnt Umber.
The slow drying time of the oil and enamel paint lets me blend or take off paint til the right effect is achieved.

I was thinking exactly that, apart from the 'little sod' bit.

Can some US Gothic Serpent rangers be far behind? :)

Great painting on some great figures.
Many of the guys could be used for the Middle East?
What do others think?
-
Absolutely.
-
Wow!
Black Hawk Down, Black Hawk Down!

Thanks for the tip Kosta - I'm going to try that when I get these with burnt umber (but with acrylics and apply it in very thin layers - yours are just so beautifully blended).
Marine0846 - of course, they won't have the tubbiness of some Middle East insurgents, or the casual street clothes, but woud fit right in. Eureka Miniatures do sell some of these - but they haven't been decked out like the Somalis above (yet?).

Amazing work! :-*

I can't say exactly when they will be in our webstore but you can always send Nic an email via the Eureka website to add them to an order or just purchase them.
