Greetings
oh my.. the Sorority meets Alien ... what a marvelous idea.
And the Dystopian Legion are looking great together, though I would have liked the drummer and standard-bearer more focused. I understand the problem though as I had the same focusing problem last year.
Great work, both of you
and good luck
Jo

Thargor you have upped your game! Very nice entry with new minis... which is always cool. :-*
Dr. Mathias, I hope you don't continue with photos like this for the rest of the league or I will have to have my jaw wired back into place. lol
-
I've always had a weak spot for the Sisters of Battle. These sure have a great paintjob, bright and clean colours as should be imho. Very well done! The Dystopian Brits are nice as well. Unfortunately the drummer and standard-bearer are out of focus, I'd like to see a better shot of them after this round :)
-
Great entries both! It's good to see Dr. Mathias' back at his game as his entries are often among my favourites in subject matter, model choice and execution. This is another very fine entry, Well done!. I'm not too familiar with the Dytopian model ranges but these Brits are rather lovely and the paint job certainly does them justice! The banner is cool but the heavy weapon is my favourite!

Both are great entries. The scenery in the 'Purify' pic is outstanding (the painting is no slouch either), great entry.
-
You've started exactly where you left off in season 6, Excellent Doc 8)
-
This LPL is proving to be really difficult! Two excellent entries.
I particularly like the alien pods; really nice idea.
-
Both beautiful entries!!! But those alien eggs are stunning! Please Dr. reveal to me the secret of building such exquisite eggs!!!
-
They look like plant seed pods to me but I'm sure the doctor can elaborate 8)
-
Two great entries. Love the colors too. What is the story with the large cauliflowers? lol
-
Nice entry Thargor, vibrant color. I'm so out of touch lately, I had no idea Dystopian Legions had figures available :P
Please Dr. reveal to me the secret of building such exquisite eggs!!!
Pil is right on the money. I made some molds of unopened day lily seed pods and cast them in resin. I also collected some dried and opened pods a couple months later, but I didn't cast those up and used them au naturel. They're covered in generous amounts of polymer acrylic medium to toughen them up, and a little tissue soaked in medium to make the alien mucous glue that sticks the pods to the surface. There's not a lot you have to do to them to make them look good, mother nature can be creepy... I can put them on my massively long tutorial list ;P
Thanks all!

I really like both of those.
Great work to both of you.
-
These are beautiful entries, both are simply amazing. I think it's one of the hardest contests to choose between, but i have made my vote.
Dr Mathias, Lovely eggs and display, i really love your impressive off-white painting skills!!
Those Dystopian legions are so rich in colour and detail, it makes them a very strong entry!
-
well what a start to the LPL
This is the first match I've looked at and the quality is top LPL stuff
Very well done both
-
Dr. Mathias, WOW. 8) I'm looking forward to seeing what else you have in store for us all this season. Great start!
-
how cool is that?
I can't help ... I stared and stared, trying to look ONLY at the minis ... but I have to admit the setting finally burned through to my decision-process-CPU. Armoured Chicks in an Alien-Setting!
However ... a tough decision! Great work from both of you!
best wishes
DK

While the Dystopian Britanians are pertty spiffy, Dr. Matthias again makes my jaw drop. Is there no stopping this guys dioramas?
As for the backdrop on the Purify picture, has that been made with Hirst Arts moulds? Please so no,otherwise I want some as well...
-
The armour of those sisters of battles is stunning :o
-
Great work Dr M, even before I cast my vote, I have no doubt which way the pendulum is swinging and deservedly so.
Thank you for all the positive comments. I'm hoping that I can improve my photography and get all the figures in focus in future rounds. I'll be entering a few units from this army as they get finished. This competition is my motivation to get them done. I'll put up some individual pics after this round for those that asked.
-
Good luck on your next round Thargor. I'll be curious to see your army develop!
