Title: Vickers' utility tractor for VBCW?
Post by: FramFramson on 14 April 2013, 04:22:43 AM
Just saw this item in the Belgian section over at the bolt action site: http://www.warlordgames.com/us-store/bolt-action/belgian-army/belgian-vickers-utility-tractor.html

Seems like this thing has some very definite VBCW potential!  lol

... and so it should, the tractor was the standard means of hauling around the Vickers Gun, or other similar tasks, in some regiments of the British Army, prior to the introduction of the various infantry carriers. The British version was unarmoured, but other than the 'armoured cowl', looks the same as the Belgian version.

Tractor, Light, GS Mk.I was the official British title. There was also another version, the Mk.Ia (HS) which had fold down side panniers to seat passengers, was faster and originally designed for the 'mechanised cavalry' units.

A metal box on treads.  The designers must have been working over time. :)
