It has been revealed to me by an anonymous source that as part of Wayland Games’ bid to launch a game studio that they will be acquiring Vesper-On Games, the people who product Carnivale.
What this means for the company is yet unknown beyond Wayland clearly looking to use their infrastructure to produce HOX. I suspect Carnevale will continue to be sold as a revenue stream for the new business whilst they get their own game off the ground. But time will tell
I've been tempted by Carnevale and followed it for a while now, but something about this takeover is making me cautious. Maybe because I don't think much of Wayland Games as a company, but I hope the game won't be affected too much in the future.

Well I don't know anything about Wayland, but I hope my second batch of Kickstarter stuff has already been sent in the mail!

I have been looking around and seen no other references to this deal, very strange. I hope it is wrong, I was hoping Vesper-On would expand Carnevale with new settings. If they sell up that would seem unlikely to happen.

I love Carnivale, I hope this doesn't bode badly . . . .
