On the way to Historicon?

Sadly, I will be at work until the middle of July.........

Here is the trip we are looking at:

Two days in New York followed by:

Travel along the Long Island Sound and Hartford to Boston, Massachusetts, where an early afternoon arrival at the historic Quincy Market will be followed by a sightseeing tour. Begin with a walking tour along the Freedom Trail to view such sights as the Boston Common, the Granary Burial Grounds, the Old State House, Faneuil Hall and the State House. Walk the cobblestone streets of Beacon Hill, one of Boston’s oldest neighborhoods. The evening is at leisure.
Day 2 Boston – New England – Québec City
This morning travel through the New England states of New Hampshire and Vermont on your way to Canada. You will pass small villages and drive through the picturesque White Mountains, particularly beautiful during the fall foliage. In the late afternoon, cross the U.S./Canadian border to enter the province of Québec. This evening, take the opportunity to sample some of the celebrated French cuisine (optional).

I sometimes visit Grangetown (near Middlesbrough) and now see they must be Amish too, as nothing there has changed there for about a century.

That's not quite true, the tracksuits are at least from the 80s.  ;)

That's what I thought, like most Brits, I've only been to Florida, this is a chance to see a lot in a few days, ending up, amazingly, in the same hotel we were in the first time we went......

Quebec old city is great. Near the chateau (roughly opposite) there is a great shop selling a stunning range of toy soldiers. (Ever the gamer always on the lookout for something for gaming).

Cheers

Hoping to visit Gettysburg in the Summer .......  :D :P :-*

I was there last week
Had a superb time. I'd have a look at the visitor centre first and the cyclorama before visiting the battlefield

when you are ready for the battlefield I'd suggest you hire a guide - the chap that took me was superb and also drove my rental - there are a range of tours from 2-5 hrs

Keep away at the time of the battle's anniversary -they are expecting huge numbers of visitors
