We are very pleased to release our latest models, and the first 28mm models we have released in a while, the 28mm Federal Army. These are 28mm versions of our extremely popular 15mm Federal Army range.
This first release has infantry as well as vehicles -- the vehicles are entirely resin, the infantry are all one piece pewter castings. Our goal was to provide infantry with both the recession-busting price of plastics (about $1.30 a figure) and the strength, heft and ease of one-piece pewter pieces, and we hope you like the results.

The Federal Army is the largest military force in the Federation. Federal Army Heavy Infantry wear extensive carapace protection and carry a variety of weapons, most common being the pulse rifle. One soldier in each fireteam will usually have a plasma grenade launcher attached to his rifle as well. The 28mm Federal Army Rifle Set has nine unique poses -- a squad leader, two team leaders, two riflemen with grenade attachment (these are the five poses to the left in the above image), and four riflemen.
Fire teams often have one or two squad rapidfire riflemen with the larger and much more powerful, but heavier, rapidfire pulser. The 28mm Federal Army Squad Rapidfire Weapons Set has four models in four unique poses.
Attached at higher level are infantry heavy weapons -- the 28mm Federal Army Heavy Weapons Set has a missile team of loader and missileman, a plasma gunner, and a marksman with heavy anti-material rifle.
The model of the Polecat Armoured Command/Utility Vehicle is approximately 102mm long and comes with a missile launcher which may be swapped with the rotary gun turret -- it's not shown here but is identical to that on the 15mm vehicle.
The model of the massive Caiman Heavy APC is approximately 190mm long and has an adjustable starboard door. This massive, heavily armed and armoured vehicle can carry a reinforced squad directly into the centre of the battlefield, then support them on to victory.
As were their 15mm versions, the 28mm infantry were sculpted by Mike Broadbent. The vehicles (and the infantry shown with the vehicles for comparison) were painted by dwartist and the infantry in the standalone photos were painted by Chris Yaro.
Available now, at the link below.

Federal Army Infantry with tripod mounted heavy weapons will be a future release -- they are already well underway. If this line proves popular we will certainly release more of our 15mm vehicles in 28mm scale. Happy gaming!

I have no use for them - but pretty lovely stuff. Perhaps a nice civilized opponent to the Eisenkern fellas? I don't care much for the super-short wheel based APC...that thing would be a huge pain in the ass to drive like that! :?
Cool figures, and it's nice to see a full line released, instead of a single blister of four models every couple of months. If I had any need I'd definitely consider them. I like the less-is-more poses of some of the basic troopers. I don't particularly love the plasma/laser cannon which looks gigantic and a bit too GW though.
As a whole, top quality stuff guys.
-
I love these!!! Simply love them. I'm curious to see what kind of looks you could get out of these troops with a lighter base color. Maybe Sand or even White. They are for science fiction games after all. There's no reason to muddy the water with reality.
-
Sigh..and I was just getting some money from the sale pages...
and it's gone!
-
Really nice, those.
-
Do you have UK stockists?
-

Basically, this. As I already said on TMP and expect to be labeled a Khurasan hater :P
-
I really think that these are brilliant... and for less than £1-00 a miniature? That is some serious pricing, that is.
I prefer one piece casts so these tick that box and the design works for me too.
Excellent stuff it's just a shame that there is no UK/European stockist.
-
They are fantastic, spot on, only other range I ahd looked at were Mongrels minis at the time but they seem to have slowed a little to date with the move to Hasslefree, these are very tempting ;D :-*
-
These are some truely great looking minis, and at a fantastic price. Keep them rolling!

I ordered them several times from Spain (15 mm sigh!) and had always good service and reasonalbe P&P.

With the US postal rates going berserk, it is only a matter of time before Khurasan have to reflect the cost in their P&P charges. Add to that the VAT charge and administration charge when the parcel arrives in the UK and the cost mounts up.
Luckily, the miniatures are extremely reasonably priced so that will off-set some of the pain.
My original comment was not a dig at Khurasan's proven excellence in providing a service, just a general sigh about the additional charges that will be incurred that wouldn't be if I bought from the UK (even if the cost of the miniatures would have to rise by 20% for VAT).

Of course you not. I only wanted to say that they can be ordered from Europe with much cost in P&P... well at least until my last order last year.

So happy I've just started a 28mm sci-fi project! These will definitely come in handy. Hopefully these will take off so we can see more. Would be really handy if you had a stockist this side of the water though.
-
8) ::) Just when I order 15 mm (aliens can be any size) this comes along. lol Sorry, "Bugs first"! ;)
Gracias,
Glenn

Saw these at Dwartist's place last year. Very nice. :-*
-
Love em! They are extremely cool!
On the issue of postage I don't see too much of an issue purchasing them directly from Khurasan. I bought a god load of Tanks, infantry etc from him fairly recently, and postage amounted to about £10.
Now that may seem a lot, but considering I can buy waaaay less here, that would amount to less weight in the U.K, yet get charged about £5 (first class) for something that's travelling not even 1/3rd of the distance and have to wait double the time, American postage is pretty prompt. Furthermore I believe if I bought the same amount of kit from various U.K miniature stockists they'd probably charge me the same amount, if not more.
-
Very interesting and, for me, really useful models. And a full range of them!!! With combat vehicles!!!
I need now enemies...
-
Lovely models.
I'm looking at my Eisenkern now, and thinking of the assembly and cleanup time... and looking at these... and looking at my Eisenkern figures..
I've got Gamer's ADD, haven't I?
And the Polecat and Caiman are both fantastic.
-
:-* :o :-* Thanks you! thanks so much for making this one piece metal figures!!! finally a sci-fi project I can get behind! They look lovely!
Cheers,
Blue

Postage at the rate mentioned above would be very reasonable particularly given the cost of the miniatures. I would only prefer a European distributor because I struggle to stay focused on projects and the delays involved in long distance shipping may mean I move on before they arrive! It's a problem I think I share with many people on here lol
-
They are great :-*
But again we really need a European distributor, its not just the postage its the good old duty that you get hit with!!! only thing that has stopped me spending lots on various Khurasan ranges.... :'(

I like the look of these - however I have been caught out before when buying "28mm" figures which are either tiny or huge in comparison to my existing figures.
So would it be possible either to get some comparison pictures or a couple of pictures of them against a ruler (if possible in mm)?
-
second the comparison or even a 'true 28mm",heroic 28mm or same size as EM4 caveat lol
edit: bugger it just bought a platoons worth anyway
they just look so nice!
still like to see some sort of size comp
-
Painted blue they'd make nice Cobra troopers....
-
White with head swops. Clone troopers
Dark grey with head swops. Sith commandos
Drill the mouth. Add piano wire and a box. Rogue trooper southers.
Military colours (grey drab etc...) halo unsc troopers.
The possibilities are endless! :) now who's going to do the right heafswops I wonder? ;)
Anyway, only just placed a 15mm order so oh well, time for another one.
-
I was thinking the same thing. Now who makes clone trooper and Sith commando style trooper heads?

All will be revealed soon enough..... ;)

Wow...... I loved em in 15 mm :o they look great scaled up. Jon I know the answer to my next question is based on sales but do you have any idea if you are going to do red faction models in 28mm? Like them a lot! Especially the armor would love to see the yoz in 28 mm and the mbt. Thanks for all the inspirational toys.... Derek
-
All will be revealed soon enough..... ;)
That sounds either ominous or enticing... I chose the latter.
Gracias,
Glenn

Again you are being sneaky. First 28mm Crusties and now swappable trooper heads. You and Santa got something worked out?

I'm not up to speed on what that is but I'd like to see those nonhumanoid alien mercs Khurasan was showing a while back translated into 28mm scale. I vaguely recall it was Kingdom-of-something-or-another* faction but can't be bothered to look for the posts right now. However on TMP, it was revealed that the next (or thereabouts) 28mm release is going to be parasachnids AKA bugs. Must say "yawn" to that one, unfortunately.
ETA - the Kingdom of the Jasmine Throne, actually:

YES!! :o lol :-* :) BIG Bugs! 8) (sad day when GZG apparently stopped producing their 25+ mm Bugs...) :'(

My 28mm APC showed up. It is a HUGE beast! Very cleanly cast. One massive chunk of body/hull, four wheels, one big and one small turret, and a hatch/door.
I am very satisfied! This thing is awesome.
:-*
-
Gotta get me some feds ordered. By and by, any plans to have the Tigrids done in 28mm?

You definitely should buy some ready to do battle with your Eisenkern troops. Oh, what's that you say, you need an opponent to take control of one of the armies? Well, if you insist... lol
-
Some space demons in 28mm please. :-*
-
Painted blue they'd make nice Cobra troopers....
That's what I am thinking
-
Some space demons in 28mm please. :-*
I asked about that. It (sadly) won't be happening. Well, the news made my wallet happier...
-
I thought I'd sworn off sci-fi troops. Then I see this and I must have them... Sigh-fi
-
I could understand why with the space demons, with 15mm you can try and hide it away enough so as not to get done.
But in 28mm?? Dangerous waters.
-
Can't see why personally, IP issues already blurred with the 15mm versions so they just need to do it already! lol
-
My vote would be for the Tigrids or some of the other humans must confess bugs make me yawn too.
-
Just when I told myself I needed to make due with the minis I have for the time being.... Really nice force and you've covered all the major infantry needs!

Pretty much, yes. A license holder is pretty unlikely to be making 15s, but much more likely to make larger scale models.
Not that I think there are any IP issues mind! :-)

That seems to be one of his strong points. He releases a mix of troops that makes sense and allows folks to build cool units.
-

Well, having said that first and sticking to it, I have to admit that some several of the KotJT aliens are bugs too -- including somewhat arguably one of my favourites of the lot, the Vulks. But they are techy bugs which are a better option than regular nontechy not-SST-the-movie bugs.
-
Got mine today! Two day turnaround, is Khurasan my next door neighbor? lol
Before you lot start asking for pics next to some other figs.... I don't own a camera sorry.
I will say they are as tall as my EM4 and Copplestone near future troopers but not quite as bulky, not skinny but slender.Remind me of pics of real airborne troops in their gear.Where as the EM4/Copp look more Ramboish.
-

2 day turnaround for being your next door neighbor? No way. That would be too slow for Khurasan. If they was your next door neighbor they would have them delivered to you before you clicked the "checkout" button on their page. :-)

Seeing these at Dwartist's last year I remember them looking well scaled 28mm, not bulky 'heroic', nicely proportioned.
-
Beautiful models and superb paint jobs.
My only wee comment would be that the rocket launchers / heavy weapons (is that a heavy laser of some sort?) look very GW style which doesn't fit in with the style of the figures. Of course I could be wrong ... I often am :-)
