That multicam really does the biz. Whats paints did you use?
-
Well as promised I will try and give it a go with a brief tutorial on the multi cam what i need to do is take a photo class for sure...
First base with an enamel spray I used a quick drying khaki.
then cover areas to be painted multi cam in Vallejo english uniform#70921( this will act as the base and deep shade)
next highlight with vallejo us field drab#70873 this is the first highlight for the final base highlight I mixed in a little yellow to the field drab.then I started laying on the first of the seven colors in the multi cam I start with the mid range color for this I used Americana brand light avocado( yes craft paints are used) this is laid on in different patterns then I lay on GW camo green (I don't think they make this any more so I will have to find a replacement) Then its on to the next range of colors Craft Smart Spanish olive 23643 Then Americana celery Green to tie in the patterns Finally Craft Smart olive green for the dark irregular patches these colors are laid in irregular patterns. Then to final it I use folk art linen # 420 for the lite spots then Americana raw umber for the dark spots I black line all again at this point with vallejo germ camo black brown #70822 this is done once before after the first base highlight as well as seam lines so I can map out breaks in the pattern for kit not in muti cam but coyote brown I have been using Vallejo green brown #70879 highlight with vallejo khaki grey#70886 if you want a little greener hue then I mix in a little russian uniform.Hope this helps fellas, multi cam is not fun to paint but I like it better then the last uniform the army had . Now on to USMC woodland MARPAT .I plan to have several of the old colonial powers in play for this project Britain , France , Germany , Japan (thanks Empress) Aussies( again thanks Empress) the USA , China((Another thanks to Empress on this I already have col.stones love em BTW , but I love mixing ranges. The plan for this project was to have the allies mixing it up against musorian military and their chinese backers in a fictitious asian country the campaign will be linked using chain reaction rules for a more thematic feel starting with the coup then the intervention then the climatic finally .Stand by for sit rep post first game. Thanks again D

Hey thanks guys for the kind words really appreciate it and I am glad you like em....Now on to our sit rep from last nights opening salvo game lasted all of about 1/2 hour poor dice rolls on the loyalist side only had 2 guys show up against a Musorian rifle section truck born, backed up by a Calvary BMP. This action was called opening shots and represented the first shots in the civil war soon after the young king has been chased from the capital in the coup attempt.
TKNN news " We interrupt this broadcast to bring you a special announcement Live from the capital"Today in an unprecedented attack against our kingdom , the capital was seized by traitors in the military and high ranking Govt. officials , The royal family has fled and their whereabouts are unknown. Troops assaulted the palace and the kings family villas fighting is fierce in the capital and troops are loyal to the traitors are moving further into the country.... all non military personnel are ordered to remain indoors" The king is on the run in his final words"Never give up never surrender, take to the hills fore and cities blend intake the fight to the cowardly traitorous dogs, become like the shadows, be brave and we will prevail....This has been a special announcement " once again..... then silence followed and martial music was heard again on the kingdom run television stations.
So that brings us to last nights game....A Musorian rebel rifle section advances into the outer communities...

The section leader makes contact with a resident " Surprise!" (http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/t536/dasmith68/f01808fd-b51d-48ed-bd65-14ec653382be_zps0f9e3057.jpg) (http://s1312.photobucket.com/user/dasmith68/media/f01808fd-b51d-48ed-bd65-14ec653382be_zps0f9e3057.jpg.html)
and is gunned down(this was the only real casualty inflicted on the rebels , as the rifle section deployed well killing the initial gunman and the 2 who came in support
rifle section deploys

over all it was a very fast game with the loyalist causing the first section to go to ground however a hail of bullets brought him down the other Loyalist fired their RPG but it did nothing and they fled off the board.... Great fun Chain reaction is new to me so this was the first real game with these rules ,but it was a blast ... want to try skirmish sangin . well thats it for this sit rep "OUT"...D

Morning gents....after a good weekend of weathering my musorian armor I am almost to a point where they can be used just another pin wash or 2 then done. However my question is I need to find a miniature to represent the deposed king not finding many to fit the bill would like him in traditional robes alla Buddhist monks or western clothes...any suggestion would be greatly appreciated also needs to be un armed...as I am almost done with his security detail all from the fantastic hasslefree miniatures just need to pick up Finn the details leader and find a suitable ride in diecast preferablly a toyota suv all I have found are priced threw the roof anyway off to finish up...thanks for any suggestion you guys can come up with. D

-
Generslisimo hyun Dai is in the que.....as part of the military junta.... ;)he is a very cool little character is one of many in the junta fighting for the thrown...but is targeted for assassination by loyalists will see if he makes it or not...Thanks for the info...he may do double duty as the king father? Just put the finishing touches on a very cool little T -55 I picked up for $6 ...at that price I got 2 but I chose to open hatches on the second so I can have it crewed up now to order up the eureka dshk and zanla crew to man it up.... Tunis again earthed tor the suggestion.......D
-
cool cool, dig the painting on the headscarf, better than i'd ever try to do
:D

Thanks Col. Glad you like its not all that hard that's why I chose that pattern rather then trying to do the real deal way to much....question for you are you still selling yourPLA and if so let me know I need more advisors for the musorian seperatist thanks D
p.s. will post up completed pics of T -55 and some wip stuff soon.

Nice work on the t-55, i have a bunch of those waiting to get their tracks stiffened lol

PVA or wood glue on one, and trying with small amounts of very liquid superglue on a other, still undecided which is the better way to go..
I will, need to try to get a machinegunner to go in that mould aswell,, :)

So when do you intend to have these spun? The HQ set and forward observer team are just what I need...hopefully soon as things are heating up in the kingdom I was able to find a modern Q 99 from China pricey but nice for the invasion...D
-
I'll try to focus my attention on finishing the machinegun, it'ss what's holding me back o_o

I bought one on ebay. It's a bit big for Cols Stone's Chinese and it's definitely bigger than the 1/48 it was advertised as but others mileage may differ. happy to offload it if anyone is interested.
-
Carlos...I am interested pm me maybe we can work something out...D

Gents I am recruiting your expertise in the hunt for ordinance for this project and a cross over I have planned first I saw over at the wargame command post a KPU 14.5 AA gun from force of arms however this is listed as out of stock any one got some laying around let me know.also if anyone who has an AML - 90 either from solido or force of arms how do they compare and which is recommended as the French will be the first allies in country they will need some light fire support.( which leads to the cross over planning on some African mercenary games ala the wild geese once eureka releases their new Aden ranges) thanks guys for any help new pictures soon.

Wow been a few days since last post....not much painting going on..however I have been building several kits for the allied forces and waiting for things to arrive ...well some did!so here is a group shot of my USMC including their airborne platform the venerable AH-1Z its a diecast 1/48 job that needs a repaint or weathering have'nt decided which yet and a Imprint LAV-25 there are several conversions within the recon group that I will snap pictures of when the lights better.(http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/t536/dasmith68/DSC_0505_zps48ef8aff.jpg) (http://s1312.photobucket.com/user/dasmith68/media/DSC_0505_zps48ef8aff.jpg.html) and now some loyalist WIP this is another T-55 with a little mud and debris now in need of pastels and pin washes the DSHK and gunner are designed to move from tank to tank if I want. In the for ground are some wargame factory survivors converted and a kreigspiel Converted RPG gunner( just added a better projectile)(http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/t536/dasmith68/DSC_0513_zps25fa6eb2.jpg) (http://s1312.photobucket.com/user/dasmith68/media/DSC_0513_zps25fa6eb2.jpg.html) well as things come in I will post up group wip. Next up terrain I am in the middle of building the Musorian airport for a raid scenario using my USMC and some contractors. well thanks for looking "Out" D
