I only played this game when I was a kid, but always wanted to create it in 3D.
The peasants are done, and the other miniatures are on the way.
I only need to order some foot knights, and I´m considering Fireforge Templar infantry, but these are quite expensive for plastic models 25 £ for 24 miniatures. Almost the price for metal??
But I have already bought the mounted Templars and mounted Sergeants, so it would be a perfect match....
Enjoy:
The first scenario: Street fight

Wounded marker are attached with a magnet to the base.

Cry Havoc by Standard Games!
Those were the days ;)
-
Yes, top game! :)
-
Blimey, now there's a blast from the past. Cry Havoc was one of the very first games I spent my pocket money on way back in the day (cue teary eyes & nostalgic music). I don't know if it still exists but I found a website a couple of years ago that had all the rules, counters, boards etc. for the main game & expansions to download for free. Might have to go on a hunt for it again.
Great idea to create a 3D version. Looks brilliant so far & can't wait to see what else you come up with for this project.

Haven't thought of this game for years! Happy memories indeed! :)

Fabulous idea.
I still have my copy, and the samurai version.
Haven't looked at either of the for 20 years...
Might get them out tomorrow and blow the dust off!
Thank you :)

Fond memories, I still have the Samurai version in a pile of boxed games in the study. :)

I still have my copies of Cry Havoc and Siege, I always wished I'd got Outremer.
Such a fun game :) Good luck on your adventure.

Please post the link if you find it :)

What a blast from the past and a coincidence. My cats were 'exploring' the other day and knocked a great big pile of stuff off the top of the wardrobe. What fell out? The Cry Havoc boards, QR Sheets and the siege record sheets. The boxes are long gone, and I don't know what has happened to the rules and counters, but I am determined this Bank Holiday to dig them out.
I bought Cry Havoc and Siege and was very tempted to get Outremer and their fantasy and Samurai versions but spare cash being tight at the time meant I had to settle for the two 'core' sets. I seem to recall that they did a 15mm range of figures to go with them. I did buy a few but they have gone missing over the years too. maybe I shoul drecreate this in 28mm what with all the new stuff coming out at the moment.
Where did you get the buildings from? If they are scratch built, do you have any step-by-step guides on how you put them together?
-
The buildings are created with the moulds from Hirst Arts Castlemould.

I printed out the village map, and created the buildings directly on the walls:

The problem is the wall thickness. The interior space is reduced, because the walls occupy one space.
It stops the in house fighting, because it only allows for one on one combat. (noboby wants to be the one attacking :-))

Seeing them on the map gives an idea of scale etc. Nice work!
Back in my RPG days, I used to have buildings on the tabletop to represent the village or town, and fighting tended to take place around them, but if fighting moved to inside one of them I would use up-scaled paper plans to fight on that allowed figures to fit in with their bases. Bases can be a major issue for some gaming as they take up a lot of space for tightly confined fighting like inside buildings and shield walls etc., so a bit of leeway needs to be given to take this into account. On a standard table-top, bases represent no problem however and can be used to represent zones of control rather nicely.

The progress so far:
I could not find any unarmoured billman, so I had to content with an armoured one.
The spearmen are hard to find, almost all of them have some sort of shield.
Wargames Fyrd viking warriors are not an option, and the Foundry Norman spearman require to much conversion (remove shield bos, remove shield strap and add correct helmet)

Does anybody have a suggestion for this miniature?
I have tried to search for scottish spearmen, and found this site:
http://www.scheltrum.co.uk/me281.html
But could not see any picture of the "Unamoured spearmen standing and receiving"
Have anybody bought these miniatures, and maybe post a picture?
