My first proper post on the Lead Adventurers forum!
In preparation for our Burma 1945 game at Partizan next month I've been painting up more goodies.
This time it's some mules and handlers, a few more 14th Army infantry and a 'well with no bucket' and 'toilet on stilts' as part of the story of the game.

As usual there is more blurb and images on the Scrivsland blog (http://scrivsland.blogspot.com/2013/05/mule-handlers-infantry-and-some.html)
The Burma 1945 collection has grown quite extensively these last few months (http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Battle%20of%20Meiktila)

Looking good, I shall be sure to pop and have a look at Partizan.

I've had a cracking weekend for painting and yesterday being a public holiday got another load done. This time another Japanese Type 92 MMG and some Japanese anti-tank teams.

I also re-photographed those rather shonky inages I painted yesterday and am much happier with the results:

Loads more images including all the re-shot stuff from yesterday and more whittering on the Scrivsland blog (http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/japanese-anti-tank-troops-and-another.html)

As I've been working on this project since January and did not join the Lead Adventurers until May, quite a I want to give a bit of context to this project.
A few years ago I read George McDonal-Frasers Quartered Safe Out Here and suitably inspired went out and purchased four blisters each of 14th Army and Japanese from The Assault Group, I also acquired a Sherman V from Blitzkreig Minatures. Like many nascent projects, these few figures were painted up and put in a display cabinet and never games with and a few more figures were purchased and put into the 'drawers of shams'
However, in January this year I decided to kick the project off again. James Morris and I have had some very enjoyable games of I Ain't Been Shot Mum and I though these would be great for some Burma games, but while I got down to painting a company or so for each side we could play some Bolt Action with reinforces platoons.
Since January I've been rather busy painting and blogging:
14th Army Reinforced Rifle Platoon (http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/14th-army-reinforced-rifle-platoon.html)
Basically the original 14th Army blisters and a few purchases made and not painted.

And some Japanese to fight against them (http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/and-some-japanese-to-fight-against-them.html)
I started working in earnest on the Japanese
(http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fzrWrG_9FmU/UQDgeCgvNYI/AAAAAAAADUw/BBtOzWIjX5s/s1600/DSCF1157.jpg)
Finishing off the 14th Army (http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/finishing-off-14th-army.html)
Back in February I added some support weapons and laughably though I was somewhere near finished, I had only finished the figures I had unpainted at the time.
I did though have enough figures painted to start playing some games.
14th Army take on the Tojos (http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/14th-army-take-on-tojos.html)
British 2" Mortars (http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/bolt-action-british-2-mortars.html)
I added a couple of British 2" Mortars
(http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JZUuljQqCls/URlJrCrGTGI/AAAAAAAADnE/rSt_2Ma55Zw/s1600/DSCF1329.jpg)
More Japanese Reinforcements (http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/more-japanese-reinforcements.html)
By February more Japanese were added
(http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Uh4lVyGszag/URlLfCGNEfI/AAAAAAAADpw/FHA_g3qV8vc/s1600/DSCF1355.jpg)
Warlord Games Burmese Scouts (http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/warlord-games-burmese-scouts.html)
Even some local Burmese were added
(http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aBeWr9pMGSQ/USpOSmqHdfI/AAAAAAAAD7c/4R1swJBwMHI/s1600/DSCF1653.jpg)
And it went on and on until I reached the 170-odd figures I have gotten painted up to today.

Looks superb all round 8)

Love the look of your figures.
Looks like you have a good number for gaming.
"Quartered Safe Out Here" is a great book.
Read it about two years ago.
-
Thanks for all your kind remarks.
This week I've painted two sections of Gurkhas from the Assault Group.
Absolutely lovely figures with bags of character.
There is a painting guide and a load more images, including some close-ups on the Scrivsland blog (http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/a-couple-of-sections-of-gurkha.html)
If you want more details of the Burma 45 project I am working on, you can find them here (http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Battle%20of%20Meiktila)
We'll be playing this game at Partizan next month if you want to stop by and say hello.

This week I've put the finishing touches to another section of Gurkha infantry for our Battle of Meiktila games:

Hopefully these will see some action in our game at Partizan tomorrow.
As usual, more information and pictures on the Scrivsland blog (http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/another-section-of-gurkha-infantry.html)
If you are at Partizan tomorrow, please pop over and say hello.

Some lovely brushwork in the collection.

I've been following your recent progress on your blog but nice to see a potted summary here.
I'm looking forward to more.

Who makes the truck, scrivs?
-
Thank you for your comments.
The truck is a die-cast that I purchased of eBay lledo I think.
