I once mounted a night goblin shaman on a stag beetle. The beetle was a multipart metal figure... if I remember correctly it was originally kind of a transport unit from the Demonworld 15mm range, not shure if you can get this anymore.
Hi Beefcake, I sincerely recommend the cane toad from the "Venomous Toob" pack of replica animals by Safari. It is pretty gribbly as is with extremely warty skin. It's also big but not too big. It can fit on a 40mm round base with it's fingers overlapping the edge or comfortably on a 50mm base, as is 33mm to the eyes and 50mm long. If you want it more demonic, just break out the green stuff. The other creatures in the toob are also great. For less than the price of a metal giant toad you get 9 big monsters. Trust me, I'm a snob for quality and these are better than a lot of metal sculpts out there, and the casting quality and material quality is there. Feel free to send me any you don't want as thanks, especially the scorpion. ;)Some of those look really cool. Not sure I could find a use for the fish unless it was some crazy spell effect: giant poisonous fish of doom that will kill by squashing and venom spell.

The spider, scorpion, centipede and frog would be the only interest though.
Thanks Glenn.
I think I found what I'm after. It's kind of toad like a bit comical and very evil looking.
A leaping mawe (http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?product=leaping-mawe~hfsa308&category=miniatures~sci%252dfi-aliens) from hasslefree. I may be getting a few more of these some time as well.
