Title: 1950s Finnish Fokker C.X
Post by: von Lucky on May 11, 2013, 03:02:06 PM
I'm wondering if someone here has pictures of the Fokker C.Xs used by the Finnish air force in the 1950s?

I want to paint a spare one I have as FK-111:

I found picture of FK-115 from summer 1947, looks like this is copied from it: http://www.hobbysta.pl/fokker-cx-finlandia-p-11930.html (http://www.hobbysta.pl/fokker-cx-finlandia-p-11930.html)
After that I don't know...
Some food for thought;
Camouflage from Brewsters were removed early 1948, and trainers were metal or green in late 50s.

Photos from cadet training in late 50s, notice bare metal Blenheim.

Maybe you should go and see it yourself  :?

Thanks Araknofobia - that www.hobbysta.pl was my best lead (the only post-war scheme I found).

That said, the fact it might have been silver has my interest. But the photos of the wreckage has me thinking it was green (most likely without the camo).

Thanks again - it's probaby the best I'm going to get on the subject and I'm satisfied the scheme is plausible.

Little bit more. I thought this issue had something about aircrafts.

Quote from: IPMS Mallari Special Bilingual Issue 1999
"In 1947, a new order about painting military planes was issued which ordered the aeroplanes to be painted Olive Green on top and Light Blue (DN-colour)below."
"Also some Messerschmitt Bf-109G2 and G6 (MT), a few Blenheim (BL) and Fokker C.X (FK) planes plus all Junkers W.34hi (JU) planes received similar painting."
