For a number of years I have had the urge to collect some figures for an ‘Eagle has Landed’ game (or my version).
First of all, I’m very OCD about mixing figures, yeah OK people are different shapes and sizes but generally weapons and helmets were fairly, well, uniform.
My initial thought were to get some British Paratroopers swap some heads for a forage cap or side cap or two (just for variety). It will be quite an expensive project because it means decapitating some Germans.
Ideally I would like figures in German jackets, with British boots, trousers, and weapons but having spent many years trawling the internet – I feel that is unlikely.
I am basing the idea more on the book as well as the film so I will need a sneaky looking SS man.
Steiner will probably be based on either a suitable German officer or a British Para officer with a German officers cap on (just to make him different)
My initial thought are Artizan Miniatures – they have some figures in the thrilling tales that I can probably draft in.

Hi Joroas,
Thanks, I've seen that figure and its very good but I'm a bit concerned that BA figures are a bit small and fine for my dimmed eyes and shaking hands.

Isn't there a maker of spare heads, either Warlord or WestWind?
-
Westwind Productions have quite a selection.

Warlord do spare heads, they have berets & side caps.

I know you said you thought Warlords were a bit small but I think they would be the easiest way to go. I painted up Steiner and some Polish Paratroopers for the same sort of project a couple of years ago and the figures are great.
