Title: Looking for 15mm city tutorial...EDIT found it!
Post by: muncehead on May 28, 2013, 09:12:03 AM
Hi All

I was looking for a tutorial for making city tiles for 15mm. I had a link to a blog (since lost) which had the following pictures:

Yuo could use some templates from Matakishi's site and re-scale them to 15mm, in stead of 28mm.

A lot of those buildings seem to be based on these designs any way.

Yes the design looks similar. Was more looking at the size of the tiles. I think they were 30cm squares and I lije the modularity.

Thanks von Lucky - that was indeed where I got the picks from originally, but had lost the link. Somewhere to start in any case.

I see that you've already started a thread about it on TMP, but I found this:

http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=275295 - he made the plans for the buildings available on his blog.

Maybe it's just a blog/server issue, because roughly 2 months ago he was still linking things from it.

That scenery looks really effective but also really easy to build. You could probably knock up printable plans on Excel just by resizing the cells and putting borders around them.

Then it would be a simple case of sticking them on foam board (or whatever material you want to use) and cutting them out.

You'd need to print off a grid with different numbers of pixels on so that you can line up the thickness of the material you chose with the correct grid size... but it is simple geometry with right angles.

I know it is easier to use ready made plans... but where's the fun in that ;)?

The website seems to be down at the moment, so with any luck Lesack will see the postand update us.

EDIT: Lesack got in touch on TMP and said they were 25cm square boards textured with a sand/gesso mix. I have already been to B&Q and got some 30cm square ones as they fit my Mad Mecha Guy roads better.
.....and Lesack says his website should be up again very soon (power outage today).

Worth looking through the rest of the blog too as there are some very nice ideas.
