Title: IHMN Bedouin group
Post by: john Hollyoak on May 29, 2013, 02:50:57 PM
Said I wasn't going to get embroiled in yet another project but I realised that I have probably enough painted Bedouins (for Chaos in Cairo) to make up a team. I would like to add a fantasy element such as dust or sand devils and possibly swarms of scarabs or scorpions. Can the rules cope with these?
Thanks
John

Yes, they can. They're flexible enough to be able to handle quite a few things.

At the moment you would have to draw up the stats yourself for those creepy crawlies, but yes I believe you will be able to represent them reasonably well.

I would group creepy-crawlies such as scarabs into small swarms on a single base and then treat them as any other figure. They might be especially vulnerable to fire and the like.

Very intriguing - I've been looking at my Dark Ages Moors & Berbers (Artizan) to make up a suitable horde for the Adventuring Companies to do battle against, and I've been contemplating adding a few fantasy paladin-style figures (Reaper Minis) as leaders and specialists and for something a bit special-creature-ish, something akin to Sand Worms.

How about a sorcerer type with a big summoned creature - djinn or efreet? Maybe use the yeti stats as a basis?

Also look at the existing IHMN Egyptian faction for ideas.

I would make a scarab swarm immune to bullets, though. I mean, one bullet isn't going to do much to hundreds of scarabs. Fire, electric arc weapons, acid, that sort of thing, though... very dangerous.

Hm, has Bullshott been reading my Al-Rakim Brotherhood list?

Malthor the Vizier is not happy - and escaped from the British prison by using his Levitation Power!

Now, if he can only gather new followers - or resurrect them as zombies...
